How long did it take you get pregnant with DC2 (30+)

I’m the wrong side of 35 and trying for DC2

Lost DC1 as a baby.
Fell pregnant again after 6 months but had a MC.
Been trying since then for about 8 months and can feel AF is on her way.

First pregnancy happened easily. It was planned but I wasn’t yet tracking or even taking FA when I got a BFP. Second pregnancy happened on 4th cycle. Now about to go into 9th cycle since MC.

Some of the women I’ve met through baby loss have had their second already and this adds to my feeling that it’s not happening for us.

Any advice / reassurance please?

I doubt my experiences will cheer you but I didn't want to read and run. This baby game can be such a heartbreaker. If I have learned anything from mumsnet, it is that this is definitely an area where each body is different each time.

DD1 - 5 months of trying. I was 34. I was just starting to worry about whether I'd left it too late. Turns out I was reading my body wrong and was waiting too late each month. Due to travel plans we made an effort earlier in my cycle but we could have gone months without realising.

DD2 - first time lucky. I was 37 (DH was gutted - he was hoping for a long campaign of frequent shagging Grin)

@tarheelbaby That does help as I am just 36 and worrying it’s too late so nice to know it happened easily for you at 37. I know a year or two shouldn’t make a big difference but I find it so easy to think the worst.

Sorry to hear your struggling don't give up!
I had my ds 15 years ago wasn't trying with him at all. Then I had 2 MC 3 years ago within 6 months of each other.
With DD2 I started taking folic acid and COQ10 and got pregnant after 2 cycles I was 37.
We decided we wanted another quite close in age for her to grow up with and got caught first time trying with DD3. Wasn't expecting it to happen that quick at all, she's now 5 weeks old and I'm 39 I was 38 when I got pregnant with her.

Good luck xx

I was 37 when we started. It took 2 years and I had 2 mcs before a successful pregnancy. I tracked my cycle using fertility friend and my husband made lifestyle changes (he had sperm issues). We both gave up alcohol.

What did it in the end for me was reflexology and taking soy isoflavones, but I may have got pregnant eventually without all that. We were offered IVF on the NHS but I wasn't keen, so I'm glad it happened without the need.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby Flowers

Thank you @Ihaveoflate and thanks for the responses

We don’t drink much at all anyway but DH does smoke and has for years so I worry about the impact that has. He won’t stop though.

I’m taking FA but was planning to get some COQ10
