BFP after BFN on the day your period is due?

I got a BFP (or it could have been an evap line/just bad test or chemical pregnancy) at DPO8ish, then BFN over the next few days. The BFP was a FRP so it should be reliable. I did have symptoms that subsided as the month has gone on but not fully gone away.

Period is due today but so far nothing. Though it isn't uncommon for me to be late a day. However now I am nauseous on top of a dull headache that's been happening for roughly a week. I also had a low grade fever without any other symptoms about 4 days ago.

I know I'm grasping at straws. I'm just so frustrated and so ready for this to happen. Thanks for any insight or experiences that you may have. Thank you.

Sorry to say it sounds like a chemical pregnancy, or like you say just an evap line. I tend to think that if you're getting BFN close to missed period date then it's probably a no-go for this month. I'm really sorry. I have had a few chemicals now, but when I have been pregnant the tests are clear BFP from 10DPO. Wish you luck x

@Trying2b thanks for your response! The test was very clear, pink in color and defined. But still faint. I think it's likely I had a chemical pregnancy than it being a evap line.

We've been trying for a year next month and I'm 34 and it would be our first. So I was really hopeful this was our month. But guess not. (Though aunt flow still hasn't shown her face yet)

We did do initial fertility tests and everything came back positive to begin with. Next step was the HSG dye test to ensure my tubes weren't blocked. But because of the pandemic they aren't doing appointments right now.

Oh well...nothing we can do right now. I hate not being able to control what happens lol.

This is identical to what happened to me when I had a chemical... I'm sorry to say. I had a positive 9&10 DPO then BFN up until 13DPO when AF arrived (I only have 12 day luteal phase hence why I never made it to 14DPO)

In case anyone finds this post later, I did get my period eventually. No bfp that month. Now in the two week waiting period again and driving myself mad with symptom spotting.... sigh.
