Hi all.
I read an advert today on a fertility lubricant page stating that normal lubricant puts a barrier up against sperm and blocks it from being able to swim.
Is this true?
I never heard of this before.

Has anyone found that switching to a "fertility lubricant" has actually helped when TTC?
Or has anyone found that using lubricant made TTC more difficult?

Thanks x

We conceived first time and used normal lube mainly because I hadn't heard it blocked sperm too - but I've heard good reviews about pre seed etc. So could be worth giving it a go?

Sorry that's not much help x

Yeah normal lubricant isn't great for sperm and if seriously ttc then it's advised not to use that or to use a fertility friendly lubricant such as pre-seed or conceive plus

I can't say for sure as we were ttc for years but switched to preseed lubricant and was pregnant about 6 months later (trying for around 3-4 years)

I'd definitely recommend making the switch if seriously ttc as it won't do any harm but could be helpful, so nothing to loose.

I was literally looking into this yesterday, I didn't know either! I'm going to give preseed a go x

Pre-seed seems to be the best from what I’ve read. Used it and got pregnant first cycle (had an early loss) then 2nd cycle (currently pregnant) but I never tried without it so can’t be certain

I would highly recommend conceive plus! It's really easy to use. Completely anecdotal, but used this on cycle 5 of trying and fell pregnant.
