Did the deed two days before ovulation... am I in with a chance?

Hi all, so basically as it says in the title, we DTD two days before I actually ovulated but didn't get the chance to do it after that. I know sperm can live for up to five days, but realistically how likely is it? Who has conceived in the days leading up to ovulation? Just need something to keep me hopeful lol!

Of course you are in with a chance! You’re actually more likely to conceive in the days just before ovulation rather than the day of ovulation itself. Fingers crossed for you x

Thank you!

Hi curlyhairdiv. I too have posted this question this month as I dtd Monday and did not ovulate until Wednesday. Apparently 2 days before ovulation is a very fertile period. So fingers crossed for the both of us. I will be testing around the 23rd of April. I am currently 6dpo with absolutely no symptoms. When is your af due and when are going to test? Good luck

PenguinBarnotBird · 14/04/2020 22:05

Yes definitely in with a chance. And if successful the baby will be a girl, so the science says (girl sperm lasts longer apparently) . Good luck!

Yes the couple of days before ovulation are actually when you should be DTD, not on the day. You need the sperm there waiting and getting geared up for the egg to pop out

BuffaloCauliflower · 15/04/2020 08:00

@PenguinBarnotBird I’m not sure that’s quite so conclusive to say so definitely

PenguinBarnotBird · 15/04/2020 08:29

Maybe not Wink but perhaps @curlyhairdiva can report back in 9 months time

curlyhairdiva · 15/04/2020 10:12

Thanks for all your replies. Haha @PenguinBarnotBird if this is my month then I will keep you posted and we will see if this theory is true!!
