I have PCOS and was on the mini pill (due to migraines) and got pregnant on our second try.

I had heard so many horror stories but everyone is different and you won’t hear all the positives as it can be a sensitive subject to mention how quickly you concieved.

Even ‘healthy’ couples can take up to a year to concieve naturally

Best of luck.

I rook clomid for 6 momths, we had an appointment booked that day and we were going to tell them we were not going ahead with further treatment

And i said I ought to do a test cos we were going to look stupid if i was pregnant...and i was pregnant 😀

@sojo44 @anguauberwaldironfoundersson wow congratulations to you both! That must have been an amazing shock! My cycles have been around 39 days until this month and I am now currently on day 56 with no sign of AF and 2 negative tests. I have had the bloods which showed raised LH levels and doctor wants me to have the ultrasound once able to do so. I’m also suffering from chest and back acne. We are still trying but I am hoping to have some answers eventually! X

@Racoonworld @Pinkiii @Thewean84 thank you for sharing ladies. It’s awful because I was convinced that we had done it this month and I got to day 45 with still no AF, then another BFN! Just hoping that I can get some answers eventually 😊

I was diagnosed a decade ago and have been on metformin since to manage it.

I started trying to conceive mid-30s and was referred to a NHS infertility doctor after a year of trying. Over the next year I had lots of tests and was put on the waiting list for IVF. We conceived naturally after 2 years while waiting for my IVF appointment. We now have a beautiful one year old girl.

It WAS a shock. It all happened so quickly and it had been years since I had a 28 cycle and we literally DTD twice that month as well - we'd pretty much resigned ourselves to the fact that my body was so crap and decided to give up until after we'd progressed to treatment. We'd even bought a huge box of condoms that week as well to stop the continuous dreaded negative tests.

I think the fact I was 35 probably helped - in so much as my body was like "it's a going out of business sale, get rid of your stock!" kind of was.

14m DD is sat next to me scoffing cheese and Easter chocolate and watching teletubbies right now Grin

Also pregnancy was the only time I lost weight. I think my ovaries and their cysts decided to go on hiatus for 9 months

Grace2296 · 15/04/2020 11:59

@Hopeislost thank you for sharing, so pleased you got there in the end!

@anguauberwaldironfoundersson amazing how life works out! 😁 I just keep thinking, ‘what if I hadn’t come off the pill’ - I wouldn’t have know there’s a problem! X

Can I also ask if anyone suffers acne as a symptom? I seem to have it on my back, chest and jawline, places I’ve never had it before 🤔 some spots are very sore to touch!

I was diagnosed with pcos after ttc for a year or so when I was late 20’s. I wasn’t having periods regularly and had bloods and scans done. Before I was able to conceive I had to have clomid and then ovarian diathermy however I did fall pregnant (she’s now 15) and both our other children (13 and 10) were conceived naturally. Good luck!!

BooMamaBear · 06/05/2020 16:34

I got diagnosed in Nov 2014 from then until March I didn't have a period at all (I've always been unmedicated) had one period randomly then got pregnant with DD in April 2015, after her my periods were every 6 weeks got pregnant again (not trying) Oct 2017 but had to have a TFMR due to an unrelated genetic condition, then started trying in Dec 2018 (period every 5!weeks) had a chemical in Feb 2019 then got pregnant again April 2019 (another TFMR in July) then started Trying again in Jan 2020 (period 5-6 weeks) got pregnant that month now 17w and so far baby is healthy!
PCOS doesn't always mean you can't have kids it just be might be more difficult mine seems to have improved after DD as my AFs didn't stop again after her I just had long cycles -IMO you can help yourself by keeping a healthy BMI (i had to lose 2 stone to do this which I did in 5 months) and reduce your sugar intake PCOS causes insulin resistance so too much sugar can make your symptoms worse! Xx
