Late period-negative test

Hi everyone, newbie here,

I was wondering your experiences on having a late period with negative test.
I am currently 5 days late, I am like clock work with 28day cycle. I took a test after a niggle of feeling a bit bloaty in my stomach and boobs, with slight cramping like a period is on it's way but hasn't come.
The thing is the probability of me being pregnant is against the odds. My partner works away so the last time we had sex I was on my period so we used condoms (correctly)
We had a lot of sex during my ovulation period, but then I had a period like clock work, it was a bit lighter and lasted 6days rather than 3-4.
I'm very confused, I have never missed or Ben late for a period but I'm testing negative. What could cause it?

@Nilo871 I know what you mean. I came off the pill in June 18 and it took 6 months to have a period after that but my bloods were all normal. Still no sign of AF and it’s really getting to me. I bought a load of cheap tests on Amazon but I think the more I test, the more it affects me

@Redmarchingband, @SammeB Any news? Still no AF for me today will do a test on the weekend, can’t bare to do one now.

Hi, @kell2126, Are you 18 days late on your period, I am now 17 days late on my period, still no AF, I did a test 5 days ago but BFN, will do another test this weekend.

I am currently in the same boat...projected period was supposed to be CD1 on the 12th...so i skipped my period, did have tummy cramps and clear, creamy cm but absolutely no bleed at all...took a test on the 14th which was bfn, took another test on the 16th still bfn...haven taken one since though because its becoming a bit obsessive for me and equally expensive. I also cant just go to the shop for that because im a service manager for people with mental health and have a 3 yr old son. No symptoms but no period either. I am now on CD31 which has NEVER happened since my last MC which was july 2019 my recent periods have been every 21 days...HELP LADIES

An update!
Was due AF 12th. NEG test on day 7.
Tested today (as I was getting frustrated) and got a BFP.

@Redmarchingband Any luck? I just did the test this morning and it was a BFN and I still have no sign of AF. I am now 19 days late on my period. Had I had my usual period, my next period would be due on 3May. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, this has never happened to me before.

@Nilo871 so sorry for your BFN. I’m still no further on either. Allowed myself to test this morning and it was still BFN, which makes me 19 days late. Next period should be due in a week (give or take a few days) if things were normal. I’m struggling not to POAS.

@Redmarchingband You and I are the same right now :) so we can share our journey lol I’m so sorry I know how frustrating it is! For me after testing this morning I don’t feel like testing anymore but I know I will. I just need to know what’s happening with my body, let’s see if I get my AF around 3rd May, if not then I’ll book an appointment with my GP. I hope you get your BFP soon. Fingers crossed for you!

@Nilo871 thanks lovely. As crap as it is, it’s nice to know you’re not the only one going through it! I’m struggling a lot today. My social media seems to be full of friends announcing pregnancies which hurts a bit and DH just says “our time will come” but it doesn’t always feel that way. It’s been a long 2 years

@Nilo871 about half hour after I typed that, AF appeared with a vengeance. Good luck lovely, I’ll keep an eye out on the threads for your BFP. For now though, I’ll get my coat

Hi everyone, I'm on the same boat. 18 days late, took a hpt a few days ago and it was negative so I'm not bothering now. Got a the symptoms. What a nightmare :( xxx

Hi @Babybates123, Yes its frustrating! What symptoms are you having? I am now 21 days late, and all HPT are negative, I have never missed a period before in years! I’ve booked a phone consult with my GP next week, have you tried speaking to your GP?

Have all you guys tracked ovulation? So was the ovulation late as well or was your luteal phase extended?

I usually have a 26/27 day cycle. Its been 29/30 on rare occasions. Last year I was very stressed when my dad died and it was 32 that month. Its never been more. I usually ovulate day 11/12 but this month that was late.

I'm now sat here on day 35! Nothing! I always spot during my LP. Sometimes heavily. And that part has happened (started last Monday). This ties in with when I thought i ovulated. My boobs have been agony since then also, so something hormonal is clearly happening. By my reckoning I should have started Friday or Saturday- even with the ovulation delay.
I've actually stopped taking the vitex and b vits the last few days in case its that? I've been on normal conception vits for forever (no issue) and I'm taking ubiquinol too.

This month we used contraception so I've not tested. Where is my AF!?

I’ve done the same as last time. Got this this morning. Not sure why, I guess the same as my mum and grandmother I have a period even when pregnant. Why it is late like that no idea.

My AF finally arrived after a 42 day cycle! Never happened before. Seems lighter than usual though.

@Internetaddictgirl it is 9 weeks from my proper period.
I expect I’ve done the same as last and ovulated 4 days before the odd period, which would mean I’m about 6 weeks.
Will try and get an early scan, I’ll do private one as I’ve had an ectopic/miscarriage before I had my DD.

Hi I recently miscarried at 19weeks, we are trying again and I'm currently 2 days late. I'm very inpatient and took a test which come Back negative? Would you recommend re taking or take it as a negative and period just late

I’m just wondering if anyone has had any experience with a late positive?! I should be 6/7 weeks pregnant but only got my first positive yesterday - (clear blue 1-2weeks)..
I had a miscarriage in October then next period didn’t come until January.. so I’m thinking I’ve maybe ovulated late..
really want to stay positive but a little concerned as I would be 13 days late before I finally got a positive result. X

Hi. Im currently 4 days late and have had 3 negative tests so far.
We've been TTC now from December. I'm slightly anxious due to my age, almost 41.
Ive had early pregnancy symptoms but you can sometimes confuse these with PMS too.
How long should I wait before testing again?
Tried a FRER one this morning which is negative. My periods are regular normally so this is very strange.

Such an interesting thread. Would love an update for those quite late with BFN? I’m late, which I never am, have loads of symptoms, did a test on Monday and this morning with BFN. . Wondering if maybe it’s a bit of stress or something but I’m not usually very affected by that kind of thing or at least I don’t feel affected.
