Irregular Periods - Ovulation- Fell Pregnant

Hey this is a bit of a random one.

Does anyone suffer with irregular periods especially since coming off the pill?

How do you know when your ovulating?

Has anyone fell pregnant from not having a period?

My doc said it will take time but I've to stop tracking my ovulation and just to let it happen but it's driving me nuts. Then I think I'm pregnant so do lots of tests and nothing.

Messing with my head 😔

I can completely sympathise. I was on the pill (microgynon) for 11 years then came off for 7 months and only had 2 periods in that time, cycles 60+ days. I never had a positive OPK and was finding it so hard with not knowing where I was at all. We then decided to just DTD every other day/every 3 days as recommended on NHS website and hope for the best and not try to track ovulation and I fell pregnant that month - not saying it will work for everyone but I was definitely less stressed without obsessing over if/when I was ovulating. Even when I found out I was pregnant, looking back I had no clue I was ovulating at the time. I think I would stick to that approach and not even bother with OPKs etc when the time comes for number 2. Best of luck, it's awfully stressful and frustrating at times but I'm sure you'll get there x

@RileyF12 you're welcome. Almost 8 weeks and bloody knackered! But no sickness which I'm thankful for. Been so anxious about it all, still feels very surreal and I was convinced with my bad luck something was going to happen and wasn't allowing myself to believe it but had a scan last week and little bean is well with a lovely strong heartbeat. Makes it all worthwhile 😊

@RileyF12 I have always had irregular period, sometimes very irregular up to 8 months apart in the worst cases, due to PCOS. I have managed to shorten it dramatically but my cycles still vary from 32 to 45 days. Last year I invested in a product called Ovusense as I wanted to know if I ovulated at all. It is not like any other thermometer as you actually insert it into the vagina every night to get your core body temperature. Once you have ovulated, you can choose to not use it until the next cycle. It has proven to be invaluable for me as I wasn't even sure I could ovulate. In addition, I track my cervix position as well as my cervical mucus. I have only just started ttc.
