TTC but trying not to get hopeful waiting for AF

Coming up on a year TTC and have had 2 chemicals in that time. AF should have arrived last night but as yet not shown up. Boobs have been sore and nipples are so sensitive, it's like a jolt of I brush against anything. Been dizzy and kinda nauseous today, not ever feeling like I need to run to be sick but more getting a lump in my throat feeling like I could easily make myself sick and have had twinges in my stomach... Took a test (2nd pee) and I think I can see a faint line (not tested this month until today) but then did a digital (3rd pee) and it was BFN... Trying not to get my hopes up... But are my eyes playing tricks on me or is there a faint line?

I can see a very faint line, however be careful as I have heard about false lines on FRERs recently 😔 your symptoms sound promising though so fingers crossed for you! Definitely retest in a couple of days with FMU (or tomorrow if you're impatient like me 🤣) 🤞xx

MrsSharpie · 02/04/2020 07:04

Thanks @Katnissx, I'm really trying to not get myself too excited though because of that fact... But still no AF today or the pains that usually come along too. I used up all my patience willpower not testing before yesterday and I had a test today and I think might be slightly darker (but still a very faint) line. I've ordered some digital so hopefully by tomorrow I'll either know with that or with AF arriving! If I'm not though, I wish she'd just show up!

It wouldn't attach before...

Just to say, digital ones are not very sensitive. Took well over a week to show positive with them after a getting a faint positive with conventional tests for me first time around.

Juno231 · 02/04/2020 07:44

Just backing up BrooHaHa here! FRERs are much more sensitive than CBs so will show a line ahead of them. Your symptoms sound promising so I've got my fingers crossed for you.

MrsSharpie · 02/04/2020 07:48

Thanks @Broohaha and @Juno231! I'm really trying to keep my hopes as low as possible because I can't take the heartbreak again. Not yet told DH because I know he'll tell me to "just not think about it" 🙄 because "it'll happen when it happens" and then I'll just get upset with him!

I definitely see a faint line, fingers crossed! When will you test again?

MrsSharpie · 02/04/2020 10:55

@raspberryjamlove I'm really trying not to get my hopes up as I've had this twice before in the last year with faint lines where AF has come late (think it was a chemical) but I'm going to test again tomorrow as I've ordered some and trying to put it out of my mind which is obviously going very well 😂😂😂😂

@MrsSharpie i definitely see a faint line!! Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏽

MrsSharpie · 02/04/2020 16:12

@Lily2020 thanks! It's reassuring to know I'm not seeing things... But still waiting for a darker line before I get excited!

raspberryjamlove · 02/04/2020 16:37

It's so tough isn't it, fingers crossed it's a positive that stays. Yes impossible to think of anything else no matter how hard you try!

MrsSharpie · 02/04/2020 17:44

Well the digitals arrived... BFN then 10 minutes later I puked... Now feeling sick again, boobs still insanely sore, queasy stomach... I just want to know!! Either AF to show or my BFP!! So frustrating!!

Katnissx · 02/04/2020 23:00

@MrsSharpie ooh interesting! I think you are 😊🤞x

raspberryjamlove · 03/04/2020 08:08

Sorry to hear that but I still think you might be! When is af due? X

MrsSharpie · 03/04/2020 08:28

Thanks Ladies! I've just done a digital with FMU and BFN but I think I still could be too... The last time I was this late it was a chemical but I'm rarely late and never more than a day. AF should have arrived Tuesday night. I ordered a more tests again yesterday 😂🙈 so getting some more FRER so I can check the strength, and also the CB box with 2 regular, 1 digital so will keep going on them and maybe leave it another few days before I do the digital again. DH is only going on the digital answer and is trying to ensure I don't get my hopes up (I get it, he's the one that then has to deal with the tears!) but the longer this goes on, the more hopeful I'm getting though 🙄

Digitals are not at all sensitive, stick to a frer or cheapy tests for now!

MrsSharpie · 03/04/2020 08:31

Yeah, I've ordered 2x2 FRER tests but will need at some point to take a digital to get my husband to believe it's definitely true... If it is 🤞🤞

BrooHaHa · 03/04/2020 09:25

Clear Blue have really done well with that marketing campaign. To be honest, at the point at which it'll show positive on a digital test, the line on the FRER is likely to be strong enough to be undeniable proof anyway.

MrsSharpie · 03/04/2020 10:11

@BrooHaHa It is crazy how the marketing and the actual seem to be worlds apart for the CB digital! FRERs are arriving today and I'm hoping that by tomo morning I'll have either a strong line or AF because I'm starting to get excited and I don't think I could take the heartache

OP posts:
BrooHaHa · 03/04/2020 11:34

Fingers crossed for you, OP. Also, remember to take the batteries out of the digitals for recycling before you bin them.

MrsSharpie · 03/04/2020 11:42

@broohaha very good shout! Currently building a little box of them in my ensuite as the in laws are around so don't want them seeing the bin and opening that can of worms 😂😂

OP posts:
MrsSharpie · 04/04/2020 06:12

Well still no AF and still an extremely faint line... Doesn't look any stronger than the others. I feel like I'm just stuck in limbo waiting to cry with happiness or sadness! This is so infuriating!

OP posts:
BrooHaHa · 04/04/2020 08:58

Test every three days, not every one. There isn't enough difference in hormone levels from one day to the next to make a visible difference in line darkness.

If there's a line, you are, for the moment at least, pregnant. 10-20% of known pregnancies end in miscarriage before the 20th week, so it's never guaranteed, however strong the line is. Just take it as a positive for now, then see if it remains positive. I'd only check every 3 days though, at most, for reasons stated above.

FWIW, my very faint line, that DH denied he could see, is currently downstairs having cereal for breakfast.

MrsSharpie · 04/04/2020 09:35

@BrooHaHa Thanks for the advice! I've not even shown it to DH because it's only a shade darker than when I had a chemical (that he thought was all in my head until the doc agreed) I know that he's just as anxious as I am about TTC but when I said about the faint line but digital being negative he took it as I'm not... And last night offered to make me a rum cocktail 🍹😂 He'll be amazing once he knows for defo (because he already is for AF) but currently his cluelessness is annoying me!
