Unprotected sex 1 day after ovulation day?

I've been tracking my cycle using an app. The app says my ovulation day was Friday 27th. I had unprotected sex in the early hours of Sunday morning (29th) and partner didn't pull out, TMI sorry.

Not fussed either way, but is there a chance I could get pregnant from this? Obviously I know the app isn't 100% accurate for ovulation day too but it was definitely within my fertile week as I had watery CM.

What's everyone's thoughts/past experiences?

As I said, not actively ttc but we're not too phased either way. Thanks :)

Of course there is! Are you aware of the basics of conception? I’m not trying to be snarky but you seem quite uneducated about the subject.

lozpants · 01/04/2020 13:54

@AnneJeanne not trying to be snarky?! LOL. Sounds snarky and definitely uncalled for! As I said I'm not bothered either way. I read on some threads that it's near impossible to get pregnant after ovulation day so I was simply asking if anyone had any past experiences or thoughts, if I was trying to avoid pregnancy completely obviously I wouldn't be having unprotected sex, Anne. Have a lovely day!

Hard to know because it hinges on the app being correct. Usually if you think you do know when you ovulated, there's still scope for it to be a day or so out really.

As for being pregnant - depends. If you are like me then nope. Because chance would be a fine thing. No bloody day works. lol. But if you are one of the lucky people that seem to manage it straight away - then you could well be!

myfav · 01/04/2020 14:53

Most people actively trying would have sex on that day incase they've ovulated slightly later than the app predicted. So yes there is a chance.

lozpants · 01/04/2020 14:56

@paintfairy @myfav thanks both! I kinda assumed it would be the case but just thought I'd get some other opinions and thoughts on the matter. I guess I'll just sit patiently in this TWW now, as if the days aren't going long enough throughout this pandemic as it is! Hmm

Yes because you don’t know when you actually ovulated and the egg lives for 24 hours after ovulating.

BrooHaHa · 01/04/2020 14:57

Yes to there being a possibility- apps aren't 100% accurate. An egg only lives for 12 to 24 hours after ovulation, so you should be safe if the app was accurate. Unfortunately, there's no way to know if it was.

Natt99 · 01/04/2020 15:12

I'd say so as the apps aren't 100% accurate. My app said I was ovulating but was doing ovulation tests and it was actually 2 days later than the app predicted. So definitely a chance plus what the others have mentioned about the life of the egg... Maybe you'll get a surprise Smile

Finallyamummy · 01/04/2020 16:14

This happened to me. I got a positive test on Sunday 🙈

lozpants · 01/04/2020 16:54

Thanks all, hopefully it might be something positive to come out the current circumstances! They did say they were expecting a baby boom in 9 months after all, what else is there to do HmmGrin

@Finallyamummy ahh congrats!! Thanks

Congratulations! Wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy Smile

GeeHO98 · 12/04/2020 00:27

@lozpants congratulations!
Can I ask if you had any symptoms? I did the exact same and think I could be too just want to know what you experienced if that's okay

lozpants · 12/04/2020 07:56

@GeeHO98 thank you, not really tbh, I was really really bloated on Friday and had one small 330ml can of fruity cider and then slept for 2 hours in the middle of the day which I thought was odd! I was 2 days late yesterday so decided to test but thought it would come back negative (I'm a serial tester every month if I'm late by a day lol). Good luck let me know how you get on x

Thank you😊 & I know it's really weird it was exactly the same as you, one time & a full day after my predicted ovulation day x

lozpants · 16/04/2020 16:06

@GeeHO98 I know so weird! I've been off the pill for the last year, true what they said about the pandemic causing a baby boom 🙈🤣 I still haven't got my head around it and neither has my partner! All feels a bit crazy! X

OP posts:
GeeHO98 · 16/04/2020 16:58

@lozpants us too and yes definitely a baby boom come end of the year aha, as soon as we couldn't be bothered to try anymore it happens typical isn't it x
