Hi All,

Long story short.. been TTC number #3 for 16 months and nothing has happened. Had bloods and all my hormone levels are fine and my AF is always between 28-30 days regular to when I ovulate 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyway.. I went for a transvaginal scan today and the woman who done wouldn't tell me if I had any cysts or fibroids when I asked and just told me to wait a week and speak to my doctor! She also asked me if I had a smear test whilst doing it so it's made me extremely nervous.

Anyone had one?

Yes I had one a while ago. The lady who done the scan sad that everything looked ok in her opinion but a dr had to officially review it and would let me know. I later got a letter confirming it was fine.
sonographers are not allowed to give a diagnosis, most will tell you something based on their opinion but they are not supposed to.
There might not be anything wrong it could just be that the lady who did yours is sticking to the rules

Yeah, when I was pregnant with my last baby 4 years ago I was told straight away by the sonographer that I had cysts. This woman made me extremely nervous and now I can't stop thinking about it. Thank you though :)

Some won't say anything. I don't think they are meant to but some will give an indication if you are lucky.

Same as @paintfairy they're not supposed to but depends on who you see they may talk you through it. They deal with lots of different conditions.

Thanks @paintfairy @Mycrazylife85 @plixy will just have to wait and see

Just got my results back and they said they couldn't find any abnormalities.. does that mean that I'm not the problem? Or could I still be? X

You really should discuss this with a doctor. Ultimately no it doesn't. It means they didn't find any abnormalities from the scan. A scan won't pick up blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis or pelvic inflammatory disease or any secondary infertility. That said you maybe fine and he isn't. Only a medical professional could tell you after the correct tests. They may never be able to tell you despite all the tests offered. It's just a process of elimination unfortunately. Has he had his tests? He'll need to go to his own doctor if he hasn't but depending on the area you may or may not need to wait for investigations. Find out what your local NHS referral policy is. Ours was good and husband has had his done. Better speak with a doctor though. Good luck
