Ttc after years of copper coil

I'm due to have my copper coil out soon, after it being there nearly 8 years. Dp is a smoker and is 41 im 36, im. Concerned that after years of having it in and being quite old and do a smoker we have a skin chance of getting pregnant. I fell quickly with my 3 dds but youngest is now 7. Just looking for some reassurance really.....

Copper coil doesn't affect fertility once removed. I got pregnant a couple of weeks after it came out. And then pregnant with second child at age 36/37, my dp wasn't a smoker but I was. Good luck

I. Just worry as its been in so long now, i would have thought it would have failed by now there can't be much copper left on it 😬
