Hi everyone,

I took this test today and I am 5 days late for AF. I have taken some internet therapies all with ridiculously faint lines and I just didn't trust them.
Then I took this and this came up. It did show fairly quickly but was more obvious after about 10-15 mins once test had properly dried. Could it be an evap?

Many thanks for any responses xx

Well I took another digital CB test this morning and it was negative 🤔 I'm sure I'm not pregnant as surely it would show by now? I'm approx 8 days late I think! I might leave it a few days and try a different test if AF still hasn't made an appearance! Xx

If that was my test I would think I was pregnant.

hurryupautumn · 07/03/2020 18:29

So sorry thought the first post was your latest one and you had done another test... 🌷

Jellybellymoo · 07/03/2020 19:32

No I only did the digital one today which was negative! I'll wait a couple of days (if I can 🤦‍♀️) and take another one! I've never missed a period before ... unless I have been pregnant of course, maybe me stressing about it is delaying it as well! Xx

@jellybellymoo oh I'm sorry to hear about the negative.... I would of though at 8 days late it would show up by now... you could be the exception though I have read posts where people didnt get positive until 2 weeks late so were actually 6 weeks pregnant, so I think it can sometimes happen. Dont want to give false hope though. But of course i have my fingers crossed for you x

Jellybellymoo · 07/03/2020 19:46

That's very kind, thank you. I am so impatient, which doesn't help! I'm very crampy today though, I wonder if AF may be on the way. My tests always showed up the day I was due with my other 4 pregnancies (I had 2 MC's) so I'm not terribly hopeful for this one xx

Fingers crossed it's positive if that's what you want!

The not knowing is the worst isn't it.
Reading all the reviews online for those tesco cheapies it looks like they are well known for giving false positives so be careful x

Jellybellymoo · 08/03/2020 17:56

I took a FRER this morning ... yes I caved in waiting a few days 🙈. Anyways, it was negative. I am convinced now that I clearly cannot be pregnant otherwise I feel that would definitely shown. Sadly I think the others were false positives. But still 8 days late with no sign of period ... it's very strange and I'm never late 🤷🏼‍♀️ xx

I’ve had the exact same lines for 2 out of 5 tests. I’m a week late and no AF, just some light bleeding 3 days before due on. So confusing!

Jellybellymoo · 08/03/2020 19:51

Whitey that's strange, it's so odd isn't it. I've never missed a period in my life so I have found this so odd. I have been stressed recently though with a house move so maybe that has contributed? I guess time will tell ... keep us updated xx

Yep Jellybellymoo! I’m normally super regular and we’ve only just started trying. This is my first time, so have nothing to compare to. It seems like a weird coincidence that I’m this late, if I’m not pregnant. Although, like you I’ve been quite stressed with a new job but probably not the most stressed I’ve ever been!! Time will tell, but I’m not good at being patient...

Jellybellymoo · 09/03/2020 00:02

I know it's so hard to just sit back and wait isn't it! I'm not going to bother wasting any more money on tests now, I'm sure I would know by now. If I'm still not on in a week I may retest. But that being said some people say they dont get a positive until up to 2 weeks late, so there could still be hope for you yet 🤞 I'll keep my fingers crossed for you xx

Just to update ... I took another FRER this morning. I am terrible at waiting 🙈 and clearly like wasting my money on tests! I have become obsessed 🤦‍♀️ anyways ... it was negative! I'm guessing I'm not pregnant, but I am 12 days late now. If I'm not, I just wish AF would turn up so I can stop stressing over the fact my period hasn't come yet!! My boobs are starting to hurt a but now tho so I dont think it will be long. I guess all the other faint lines I had must have been evaps Xx

Whitey, how are you getting on? Xx

OP posts:
Whitey5 · 11/03/2020 22:05

Thanks for asking JellyBelly...I got another negative Tuesday morning and then yesterday evening I got the same pain I usually get around ovulation time. So, I’m just assuming I’m not pregnant. I think last month was just a funny one. Thinking back I don’t think I had any kind of ovulation pain. Maybe next month! How’re you doing?xx

GeeHO98 · 28/03/2020 20:20

@Jellybellymoo did you get your af? I've just had the same on the same test I think and worrying about it been a evaporation line too

Jellybellymoo · 28/03/2020 20:37

Whitey, how are you getting on? Apologies for late responses, things have been a tad busy my end!
I finally came on 2 weeks late and had an awful period! So in my case they must have been evap lines! Gee I would suggest getting a more reliable test as I now wouldn't trust those ones! Xx

OP posts:
GeeHO98 · 28/03/2020 20:55

Thank you for replying and I've ordered some clear blue in case but I think there evap too

Whitey5 · 28/03/2020 22:22

I’m definitely boycotting supermarket tests. I’m on now so must just have been a very light period and an evap line. Disappointing but also kind of a relief with everything else that’s going on!

Jellybellymoo · 29/03/2020 02:53

Gee I'd consider avoiding the blue dye tests where possible, pink dye are much more reliable apparently and less likely to have evaps.
Whitey, couldn't agree more. I'm a nurse for the NHS and feel like me not being pregnant is a blessing in disguise. I wouldn't be able to go to work. I guess everything happens for a reason!
Hope your all staying safe xx

Whitey5 · 29/03/2020 10:01

Awww me too jellybelly. I work in a&e. Nurses are still working whilst pregnant but in (supposedly) lower risk areas. I think being pregnant would just be one more thing to worry bc about. Stay safe x
