Has anyone had a successful pregnancy with a polyp?

I've been told I have a uterine polyp, and will have to wait up to 12 months for the operation to have it removed.

Has anyone managed to have a baby with a polyp? I'm worried about waiting until after the operation because of my age.

How long have you been ttc @lovemydog301?

I had 2 mmcs last year and am under a fertility clinic for further investigations. I was referred for a hysteroscopy (camera in uterus, but will treat whilst there). Scans didn't show polyps but when I had the operation they found and removed a polyp. I read up and they can create a hostile environment so you should get it removed.

Why is the wait so long? I was referred for the op in September and had it under general anesthetic in December.

I have since had another mc but I think my issue is recurrent miscarriage now so not related I don't think.

Who referred you for the scan? 12 months is a really long time, Hooe you can be seen sooner x

Thanks so much Venus. Sorry to hear about your mmcs- hope this gets resolved soon!

Not sure why the wait is so long, very frustrating. Must depend on whereabouts you are in the country.

Yes I had thought that about the hostile environment- we've been TTC now for about a year, so am hoping that's the reason as it at least gives me an explanation.

I'm looking into getting it done privately but I think it's going to be in the region of 9K, which is out of my budget!

Thank you @lovemydog301

I'd be inclined to go back to your GP to push for a referral. Are you going to go to a fertility clinic as it's been a year? It took a while doing all the bloods, scan and soerm analysis before we could be referred, but then you're under gynecology, so hopefully they can push things through quicker.

9k is loads!! This is definitely something you should be able to have gone on the NHS as like you say it's likely to he a reason why you are struggling to conceive.

I hope you get some positive news soon :)

I realise this thread is over a year old but on the off chance...have you had any luck @lovemydog301?

I have had a polyp for three cycles that my doctor initially wanted to watch and see what happened (I'm doing monitored and medicated cycles) but as of this morning he said if it's still there next time he'll remove it. I can't go back until October and it all feels pointless until then so looking for hope!
