Positive OPK 9/10 DPO

Hi all,

Long-term MN user here but I've namechanged for this post. I lost my baby last year and am unsure where I stand yet!

I am around 9-10 DPO now (I ovulate on dat 18-19 of a 31 day cycle), confirmed by CM and the usual symptoms at the time.

I've been feeling crampy and full, don't have any HPTs at home so decided to use an OPK. This is the result (photos are unedited). I've also checked my BBT this morning (vaginally) and it was 36.50C. Now it is 37.57C.

I know you won't tell me if I'm pregnant or not, but I'm interested to hear everyone's stories - did you have a positive OPK around similar time and if so what was the result?

I was planning to test on Sunday (the day when my AF is due), but considering whether to do so earlier.

Thanks for your stories in advance. Flowers

PS - I will follow up and let you know if I'm pregnant. I hate it when you google a thread and the poster has left without a response!

@lilybelle05 I can see a faint line (and I never normally can on these type of pictures). Definitely test again in a couple of lines and hopefully it's darker!

Lillybelle05 · 05/03/2020 10:36

Thank you for your quick reply @shhhhs Flowers

Gosh, I think I'll have to test again tomorrow. It's my last Clearblue! Will update tomorrow morning.

How have you been?

Usually I'd read and run but this particular thread has snagged something in my heart - I have everything crossed for you OP xxx

shhhhs · 05/03/2020 10:51

Good luck, it must be a good sign if there's a faint line there today though 😁 I'm good thanks, just entered the TWW so will hopefully be seeing my own positive line in a couple of weeks!

Lillybelle05 · 05/03/2020 11:01

Ahhh that's too kind @AsSurprisedAsYouAre, thank you Flowers

@shhhhs I am in denial to be honest, until I see a dark line, I don't think I'll believe it! I'm keeping everything crossed for your success this month, it can be souch a tough journey emotionally Flowers I've certainly had many, many downs over the last year.

Tomorrow cannot come soon enough. I'll be posting an update between 6.30 and 7am tomorrow! Flowers

@lillybelle05 can't wait to hear your update tomorrow.

@assurprisedasyouare are you in the TTC hellhole too??

AsSurprisedAsYouAre · 05/03/2020 21:19

@shhhhs My partner and are ttc our first. We're only 4 months into the rabbit hole but we're a little older (he's 40, I'm turning 36 next week) so we're feeling the pressure - and it's already taken over my life. I'm just behind you this month, due to ovulate tomorrow and already dreading this next round of symptom spotting! Fx for your BFP in a couple of weeks xxxx

Lillybelle05 · 06/03/2020 07:02

So I think this is all wrong... I can't see the line as clearly as I did yesterday in real life Confused Really, I can only see something after I've increased contrast, but not sure if that's even a line. BBT has gone up again, marginay, but it's just shy of 37C.

I am going out of my mind, it's the 38rd day of my cycle and I'm about to start climbing the walls. Yesterday I felt nauseous all afternoon and eve, been very tired for most of this week, I thought after yesterday there was a chance and then this. I am furious, crushed and about to quit this entire baby nonsense right now.

I've just compared the photos from yesterday and today and when put together I can clearly see the lines yesterday, but not so much today. It's a CP, isn't it. I'm so done with all this Sad

Can you get a different brand of test? I've had evaps on those clearblue before. Fx for you xx

AsSurprisedAsYouAre · 06/03/2020 11:51

Oh OP. How frustrating! Those Clearblue tests aren't the most sensitive though, it might just be taking a while for it to pick it up - can you get a FRER or something with a lower mlU threshold ? x

Lillybelle05 · 06/03/2020 12:09

I don't know ladies, I always seem to see evap lines on FRER tests so I avoid them. I don't know if I can take another question mark or a BFN, to be honest. I think I'll wait till I miscarry now.

OP posts:
Lillybelle05 · 06/03/2020 12:16

I don't think they are evaps on CB, all of the photos have been taken between 3 and 10 mins after the test, as recommended by the manufacturer. I never check after a while. Unfortunately I can clearly tell there was a line yesterday and not quite today. I don't think I drank more and both samples were FMU, so I can't pin it on anything else than having a chemical pregnancy.

@Lillybelle05 sorry you're going through this stress. You're not out until AF arrives but maybe if it isn't here in a week ask the GP for a blood test. Pregnancy loss really f*s with your cycle, it's so unfair ☹️

Lillybelle05 · 06/03/2020 21:43

Thanks @shhhhs. I lost my baby quite a while ago now, and even straight after the miscarriage didn't have cycles as long as this one. Day 39 tomorrow. It's crazy.

OP posts:
shhhhs · 06/03/2020 21:48

That is weird. Definitely request a blood test, it may be able to offer some insight. Do you know when you ovulated?

I'm currently on CD29 and only just ovulated, so looking at a 44 day cycle this time too, that's never happened before. Doesn't seem right cycles can last so long.

Lillybelle05 · 07/03/2020 08:58

Oh I feel for you, @shhhhs, a 44 day cycle is not easy to cope with, the length itself and the lack of stability when your hormones are crazy is not good. How are you feeling?

I usually ovulate on CD18 or 19, or so I thought. However, this cycle I did not temp in my follicular phase or use any OPKs - found them stressful. So instead I watched my CM carefully and other symptoms - I get bloated and gain weight in my ovulation week, also have particularly nice skin, hair etc). Everything was "right", and I was pretty sure ovulated then. My luteal phase is 12-13 days which means I should be 8-9 days late AF-wise. However, if I actually ovulated around the time of my positive OPK taken when I first posted, that would mean it happened extremely late, around CD28. As a result, I would be 11DPO today. The chances of me conceiving then in my mind are close to zero, DH and I dtd on CD23 and not since. What would be the chance of me ovulating AND conceiving on CD28 of what normally is a 31 day cycle?!

I took another test and this is what I got today. There's also a clear line on an inverted photo (I can't believe it's come to me inverting hpt photos!!!). It's the weekend now and I've got meetings back to back on Monday, if nothing happens before Tuesday, I'll definitely go to see my GP and ask for blood tests. Whatever is going on, I just would rather know, but it's a waiting game Confused

I wish I could offer some answers @lillybelle05 ☹️, it must be so so frustrating. I can see a line on your test again this morning but it does seem weird it would be so faint when you're so overdue AF. I guess if you are only 11DPO though the line would be faint. Keep us updated ♥️

Lillybelle05 · 10/03/2020 16:28

Just wanted to let you all know that it was a chemical pregnancy, confirmed by blood tests. I now need to wait to start bleeding.

Thank you again for your support Flowers

Sorry to hear that @lillybelle05 ♥️ hope AF arrives quickly for you so you can try again xx
