No positive OPKs, but am I ovulating?

So, I've never had a positive OPK, but I'm not sure if this is because I'm not testing enough or because I'm not actually ovulating.

I do get darkish lines on tests around the right time for ovulation, but they're never as dark as the test line, and I don't know if this means I might not be ovulating?

Is it possible to get some reaction when taking an OPK test at the right time in my cycle, but still not be ovulating?

SO CONFUSING! March will be our sixth cycle of trying, and I'm just worried I'm not ovulating at all. Regular periods though etc.

I just wan

Have you tried the clear blue ones? Digital? I've heard they're good. I never had a positive OPK when TTC #1 and he's 18 months now!

You could be missing the surge, mine is relatively short so when I see a darkish line I test 2/3 times a day. Have seen my positive the last 2 cycles. I also ovulate on the day if my positive opk (confirmed by taking my temperature). Interestingly apps were saying I ovulated much later so in our early days so think we missed ov a few cycles.

Do you notice any other signs like changes in your cervical mucus?

BeansOnToastWithCheese · 25/02/2020 14:51

Thanks both! Good to know I could well still be ovulating!

I'm generally only testing once a day at the moment, so will start testing more and maybe get higher spec tests!

Some months I have noticed a change in my cervical mucus but that seems to happen much earlier than the apps tell me I'm ovulating, and earlier than my darkest OPK tests. Confused

Sounds like it be worth temperature charting as well - I saw LOADS of ads on FB etc for a wearable thermometer a few months ago but I can't remember what it was called. Any recommendations for thermometers/apps?

Cheap tests should work but you need to be doing 2-3 times a day. My surge comes and goes quickly.

I just used a thermometer from amazon, was about £5, you need it to read 2 decimal places. I input into fertility friend, which is basic but OK @BeansOnToastWithCheese

Definitely do an opk at leadt twice - don't do one until after 2 pm (clearblue you use first thing I think) but agwin, amazon is your friend... About 30 one step opks are around £3! :) good luck
