If you conceived on ovulation day - did you have a boy?

Wondering if the old wives tale has been true for many of you?

I did. 2 boys

It isn't an old wives tales, it's a theory based on incorrect assumptions. It's been utterly disproved.

I'm going to guess it's probably been true for about 50%

It was back in the days before ovulation kits were invented, but I'm pretty certain I conceived on ovulation day all three times, and all three are boys.

My boy was conceived on ovulation day

Because I conceived on ovulation day (temperature tracking), I thought my baby would be more likely to be a boy. She's a girl.

My boy wasn't conceived on ovulation day but my girl was 🤨

Had sex twice on ovulation day.( knew i was ovulating because i always have a piercing pain up my rectum)

Had a boy.

Yes. Ttc 5 years so OPK's for months. First positive and he is most definitely a boy!

First boy I'm not sure as it was 14 years ago and just had unprotected sex all month.
Second, came off pill, used ovulation strips and dtd when they were positive, pregnant straight away with a boy.
I'm 22 weeks with another boy and it was the same, first month trying, used the strips and then only dtd when they were positive so for me the theory worked.
I wasn't trying for a particular sex though just a baby.

My daughter was a honeymoon baby. Sex a few times a day means I assume it's likely I conceived her on ovulation day.

Sadly no time for sex a few times a day now she's a toddler!

I'll add my anecdotal evidence to this too. Yep. Boy on ovulation days and girls from days before it.

I've got two girls and we had sex on ovulation day but also 2 days before and 2 days after. You just don't know what day you actually conceive unless you only have sex on ovulation day and not for a few days either side.
