@Crystal2020 personally I would take it the day you see the solid smiley - or if you’ve tested in the afternoon then start the next morning. Are you feeling ok about starting it?

@Crystal2020 pred can delay/mess up ovulation so you shouldn’t take it until after you’ve ovulated. I’d definitely wait until at least the day after the solid smiley and possibly two.

@Crystal2020 that's amazing news that you can get cracking right away! They always say it happens when you least expect it, so maybe being chill and not so hyped up about it all will go in our favour? Crossing my fingers for you and praying it goes well.

I will absolutely let you know how I get on next week - I'm trying to keep up with everyone else's journeys aswell, there are so many of us all!

@elc19 I was reading your posts there and we also can hardly afford this treatment, it has definitely made me feel a bit guilty getting us into debt doing all of these tests and ivf previously. Just have to hope it all works out and will be worthwhile. But I know how hopeless it can all feel as we have lost 5 and sometimes I wonder should I just stop (but I am extremely stubborn and always say no!!!) Xx

@HarrietM87are there certain vitamins you can take to help your lining? I’m sure in “its starts with the egg” vitamin e is said to help. I appreciate not that helpful right now though x

Thanks @mezgaski I need to read that book! I stocked up on vitamin E, Brazil nuts, raspberry leaf tea and started back on the baby aspirin yesterday - hope it helps! I’ve found some stuff online which suggests it normally grows 1mm a day, which would actually be fine for me and in line with previous months so fingers crossed!

Can I just ask how accurate the 10dpo pregnancy test is when on pred?
In my other pregnancies I've not had a bfp til day 12 earliest.

Has anyone tried lymphatic drainage massage? I saw in the ‘Is Your Body Baby Friendly’ book that it’s recommended as something to have alongside the treatment programme. X

Hello ladies, just want to update here about my recent consultation with Prof Quenby. She is now into a new trial of using an antibiotic called doxycycline to see whether it can prevent miscarriages. I have seen some ladies have taken it in this group.Its now an open trial for next two years.
And a question to whoever has taken it, have you had successful pregnancies with it?

Just wondering if anyone can give me some positive stories of successful pregnancies with no real symptoms at 5 weeks? Anxiety is high. 6 week scan next week... I wouldn’t mind feeling ill! My boobs are a bit tender but not like they were with my only other successful pregnancy so just worrying. X

Hi @mezgaski the pred masks symptoms so it’s normal not to have any. When I was pregnant with my son I didn’t even have sore boobs. Not long to wait for you, fingers crossed!

@mezgaski yep, no symptoms here either (other than my delightful pred moonface, but that had zilch to do with pregnancy!) Try not to worry; crushing tiredness may well catch up with you in a few weeks; enjoy the manic ness of steroids while you can!

Hi everyone, I'm new to mumsnet but after recently finding out I have high NK cell levels I have been put on the prednisolone treatment and I was hoping to find some other people who are going through the same! Thanks to whoever set up these threads

I had two miscarriages last year and after the last one we have had more of a break while being tested etc. I'm feeling quite nervous to start again and also have never really tracked ovulation before so don't know what I'm doing. Since the miscarriages my cycles have become really long so I have no idea when I ovulate/when I should test.

Hi everyone please can you help!

I am on DR S treatment and yesterday (13DPO) I got a really faint test. I had 3 of the same thing happen. Please can someone tell me if these are a evap?

I stopped my meds at 10DPO and will have to start again today if I am pregnant but can't figure out if I am or not?! I'm pretty sure it's just a evap line but it's happened on 3 tests?

@weddinghelp1 those internet cheapies are a bit unreliable...can you get a first response test ASAP? If you have a faint line on a cheapie and are pregnant you’d expect a clear positive on a FRER. Good luck!

@HarrietM87 thank you! I did think it's probably wrong! I'm going to get one in half hour! Will update then but I'm pretty sure i will be a BFN!

Hi @Hippo20 - sorry to hear about your miscarriages but hopefully this pred will help us! This is my 1st cycle taking it and I should be starting it later this week depending on when I ovulate. I find the Clearblue digital ovulation sticks are pretty good for tracking ovulation. They’re pricey though! Not sure if other ladies can advise on better/cheaper ways. I tried tracking my temperature before & found it too stressful so went back to Clearblue! I normally start tracking from about day 10 although like you my cycles aren’t back to normal after miscarriage so god knows how many sticks I’ll use this month! X

Thanks @mezgaski I’m fine - 1dpo today! And had all the sex possible - DH was away until sun but we managed o-2, o-1 and o day. I had 3 good follicles plus one other so I’m really hoping we were in with a good chance this month and my lining managed to pick up! The wait is awful - don’t know how to distract myself til next Friday!

Is your scan with mr s?

No I’m going to my local epu in Bristol for when I should be 6+2 as they said they’d scan me & then all being well I’m booked in with Mr S the week after. I had my intralipid there last week though. I have only ever had a good scan with my daughter so the first scan is massive for me but I’m staying positive!

Ladies I'm even more confused. 12DPO and I've defo got a positive on a FRER butttt!!!

It's SO faint, nothing like everyone else's I have seen :(

@mezgaski I’m the same - all my losses have been pre 6 weeks. My son is the only one I’ve ever had with a heartbeat and mr s told me at my 6 week scan with him that since I’d got that far he thought I could relax for the rest of the pregnancy, and he was right! Good luck for your scan - I’m sure all will be well.

@weddinghelp1 I'd say I can see it! Bloody squinters! But I'd still take a squinter any day over that aggressive bastard that just says 'not pregnant'. Let me do my squinting!!!
I would take the pred and test again. Congratulations. Today you are pregnant x
