PMS vs early pregnancy symptoms??

Afternoon all!
Am TTC for the first time at age 40. A good month of trying this month, and I’m currently on day 21 of a 28/29 day cycle. Since yesterday I’ve been feeling mildly nauseous, and today slightly itchy boobs, and feeling very low mood-wise. The low mood is very typical for me approx 1 week before period is due - is it possible to get normal PMS symptoms if maybe implantation hasn’t happened yet and still go on to get pregnant?? I know I’m clutching at straws really as it’s too early to test, but just wondering whether I should take the apparent PMS symptoms as a sign that this just may not be my month, or whether I might still be in with a chance? Anyone else had similar experiences, and what was your outcome?

Hey @skh197,
I've read everywhere that PMS and pregnancy symptoms are very similar! So, until AF arrives, there's still hope!
Good luck! Smile

@Morgane777 thank you for your reply! It’s a bloody minefield isn’t it, I wish the symptoms were completely different so that we didn’t have to endure all this guesswork and getting hopes up! Hmm

@skh197 I totally agree! I've been TTC for 6 months now and the first ones I thought I was pregnant... it was always a disappointment when AF arrived! Now, I try not to symptom spot but every month there's a new symptom that makes me believe this is the one! Confused
Fingers crossed for us! Flowers

Just to give you some hope, my pregnancy symptoms were exactly the same as my period symptoms. So much so that I cried the day before I got my positive because I was so convinced I was starting my period, I had bad cramping and I'd had a bit of spotting etc. I think the crying was the giveaway that I was actually pregnant though haha never get emotional! Good luck x

@Catlady32 thanks for your post! This gives hope! I always spot 2 to 3 days before AF, so every time I see my spotting I think I'm out! I nice to know that's not necessarily the case!

@Catlady32 that’s good to hear, thank you! Will stay positive but try to keep a rational head at the same time (if I can!!) Not sure if your positive result is a recent thing, but if so, congrats! 😃

It will happen, have faith! xx and thank you, yes I found out in November after trying for a year and having an ectopic, I was losing hope when it happened x
