Hello

I went on the pill in December for approx 2 weeks (immediately after I finished my Dec period) & decided it wasn’t for me. I missed a couple of days over Christmas but then doubled up the dosage on the next day.

I stopped taking it around 6th January and I’ve not had a period or withdrawal bleed since. Pregnancy test negative.

Is it possible that it just postponed my ovulation hence the late period?

Obviously I didn’t expect my cycle to just go straight back to normal but it’s been 3 weeks now since I finished and not a sausage!

Your periods can take up to 6 weeks to return after stopping the pill.

But more likely will be a month after you stopped if you are not pregnant.

Because if you stopped on 6th jan you probably ovulate around 20th jan so you would show bfn on a test.

Just wait another 1-2 weeks and test again if no periods show...

Looking at the dates like that is really helpful, thank you.

I guess I didn’t expect it to take so long to come back as I only took them for two weeks!!

It’s not an ideal time to be prego so hopefully just a post-pill hormonal blip.

I don’t think it matters how long you take the pill for... if you start on first day of periods it works immediately.
And sort of reset when you stop... as if you start a new cycle.

I wouldn’t worry too much

Good luck!!
