Currently have really sore boobs. Have done for the past month. The only other times my boobs have hurt like this is when I have been pregnant with my 2 dc. But I have the coil.... Petrified of taking a test!

I think you better take a test quickly because if you are pregnant and your coil is still in place, you need to see a doctor quickly.

DreamingOfSummerDays · 26/01/2020 22:13

It's unlikely, but the coil can move, or be expelled. Making it less effective. Probably worth taking a test to put your mind at ease.

Can you feel the cords? That's a good indication of whether it's likely in the right place or not.

Yes you can but it will frequently be an ectopic so as PP said do a test to make sure!

Why are you petrified? Is everything ok?

I have the coil in too so hope its effective!

Fingers crossed you get the result you want!

GoingCrazy675 · 26/01/2020 22:45

Ohnoherewego62 petrified of taking the test incase it is positive. Not sure how we would cope at the moment :-(

I see! Would it put your mind at ease to nip to a 24hour place?

I do know people that have gotten pregnant with the coil but may just be off cycle for you.

Yes, my friend is currently pregnant and had the coil. She has repeatedly been told it's rare it happen.
She had a scan very early once she realised she was pregnant and you could see the sac and the coil next to it.
It was removed and the pregnancy is going fine. She did have to get her head around it, from hoping the coil could be removed ok without harming the baby. To hoping a baby that was never planned or wanted at that time was ok.
Get a test as soon as possible so you can look at options and hopefully no complications.

Yes. This happened to someone I know too. She thought it was early menopause but instead it was a 4th son. She had a hysterectomy after that one!

ozymandiusking · 26/01/2020 23:16

I did. It was still in place. But I was pregnant.
