My ovulation test says high when do I have sex

I did a clear blue test, says it's high, badgered the partner for sex and he couldn't ejaculate, saying he was tired and felt a bit ill, and that we should do it later, if it's high in the morning will it be too late to do it tonight as I read the egg only stays in the tube for 12 hours
Having sex according to the ovulation test feels pretty clinical too no wonder he's a bit tired.

Was it the flashing or static smiley? Flashing you could still have days and days until you ovulate. Static means in a day or two.

High means it'll happen in the next day or so (so likely tomorrow). But they say before is better. Today would be good if you can but if you've been doing it before today that would actually be the most ideal?

You should be dtd before you get a peak or static smiley really bit otherwise you have about 2 days to be in with a change

@peachypetite yes Just once two days ago, as partner is always tired, @BunnytheKillerWhale and @paintfairy i didn't know that i thought it was better on the day. So confused as to how ovulation works even after extensive reading

You should have sex in the days before ovulation too. Why is your partner always tired? Unfortunately there’s a very small window each month so he needs to make an effort too.

Sperm can live in the body for up to 5 days + whereas the egg only lasts for about 24 hours. So if you have sex for up to 5 days before ovulation then you are in with a chance whereas once you ovulate you’ve got a window of about a day. I have read the highest chance of getting pregnant is 2 days before ovulation.
