Hi, I ovulate cd 26 and heard that this may impact egg quality. How do I shorten the follicular phase and ovulate sooner?

Thanks

How long is your cycle though, OP? Do you have regular cycles? It's the lenght of the luteal phase (the one after ovulation) that matters most. There are different schools of thought, but usually it is said that the luteal phase of anything between 12 and 14 days is normal. 10-12 shouldn't majorly affect your chances either. If it's under 10 days, it might be an issue because the egg may not have enough time to implant itself (luteal phase defect, although some doctors believe it's a myth and not an issue anyway).

If your luteal phase is short, first and foremost, are you healthy weight, living a healthy lifestyle, eating well? Secondly, consume the right amount of vitamins such as B complex, D and folic acid.

Lots of posts around MN about taking various other things, but I've read a lot about them some time ago and I'd say don't take any such extras before speaking to your GP first.

In practice, conception reflexology and acupuncture might also help with regulating your cycle.

Good luck.
