Hi there,
I've been TTC for 2 years and nothing. I've got an 18 year old already but would love baby number 2. I am 37 years old now so wondering if it's maybe to late for me although I've seen women getting pregnant in their 40s..
Has anyone got any success stories?
Also any vitamins advice to take?
I'm taking vitamin D and folic acid. Thinking of taking aspirin too..
Any help/support would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Hi pineapple,
I'm only on month one, TTC #1, so can't give advice! But definitely support.... feeling a bit lost and in need of support myself.

Hello, OP. We TTC for 2 years: 1 MMC, 1 MC and 1 ectopic later, we gave up and went on a ridiculous holiday for 3 weeks where we ate and drunk all the bad and lovely things. Came home, started taking aspirin “just in case” and got pregnant almost immediately, before really going back to trying iyswim. It stuck, and DD is 6 months old now; she is just the loveliest, funniest, most precious little bundle. Don’t give up, 37 isn’t late. All best wishes and I hope it happens soon!

Thanks @Ariel12345
Appreciate some support. It's really hard and everywhere I look people are getting pregnant left right and centre..

@StargazyDrifter thanks you really have given me some positivity..I've heard good things about aspirin..was there anything else you were taking at the time?

pineapple2 Thank you 😊 No, just aspirin and Pregnacare. Was consultant led bc of all the unexplained losses and he he said it was a good idea to take aspirin “just in case”, no known ill effects, but to stop around 36 weeks as it thins the blood which could cause too much bleeding at the birth. It was all fine for me though.

@StargazyDrifter
Thank you. I'll going to start taking that to..and thanks for replying with your success story..

Sorry if it's a stupid question but why aspirin?

ConstanceL · 13/01/2020 20:08

I wouldn't take aspirin before you got pregnant unless you've been medically advised to like the previous poster has been. My consultant told me to take aspirin only after a positive pregnancy test as it may cause issues with implantation if taken throughout your cycle.

polkadotpixie · 13/01/2020 20:09

I got pregnant the first time I tried Aspirin too. 75mg/day after ovulation

We had been trying for a year. I had also had an HSG that cycle so I'm not sure which was the magic touch but it's worth a try

pineapple2 · 13/01/2020 20:35

@bluemoon2468
According to NICE, all pregnant women at risk of pre-eclampsia should be advised to take a baby-aspirin pill (75 mg in the UK) from 12 weeks of pregnancy until at least 36 weeks. It’s thought baby aspirin could have a beneficial effect on platelet activity. That advice is backed up by new research from the US, which suggests high-risk mums should be routinely prescribed it during pregnancy to reduce the pre-eclampsia risk.

And some studies show that it's good during conception although there is no real conclusive evidence. They advise not to self prescribe but I thought I've tried everything else and maybe it wouldn't hurt but going off what @ConstanceL is saying maybe it could affect implantation..

I've heard a few success stories with it so just thought I'd try it. Haven't yet and just taking the normal vitamins advised..
I'd just try anything really

I’m getting close to year n a half of trying. We are going through investigations at the moment but not found any cause yet. It seems like it will never happen but I’m always looking to read positive ttc stories after a long time of trying!
