I've always had irregular periods. I had the Mirena removed in the January time and had a BFP in July. I didn't try tracking or temping etc as didn't think there was any point, we just had regular unprotected sex during my cycle. We actually decided to stop TTC in June as I had a job offer which would require us to relocate but obv decided too late!

@Liam2018 hi, yes I have irregular cycles from 25-50 days. I fell pregnant in August on CD33 (sadly ended in mc) and we weren't trying x

I tracked using Clearblue digital ovulation tests and spent a fortune because ovulation could be day 30 odd of cycle. Usually started about day 10 and kept going.

Hello @Waiting1987 , can I ask how you got on with the CB digital kits? I'm TTC now and we're DTD all the damn time haha as not sure when my fertile window is x

DD2 I managed to catch straight after the pill as my body was still in that forced 28 day cycle. DD3 took nearly two years, I had some hideously long cycles where I suspect I wasn't even ovulating.

I conceived ds in 6 months and dd is 8 months I think. Always had irregular periods . Dii I don't use ovulation sticks or anything just had a lot of sex!!

Very irregular periods due to pcos.

Son conceived thanks to Clomid and ovulation testing, I didn't ovulate on the day I should have done according to clomid, it came two days later, so I potentially could have missed it if we'd trusted the packaging!

Daughter conceived thanks to wine and a night in a hotel whilst still breastfeeding and having not had a period since my son arrived 9 months earlier.

7 month old son conceived due to a million ovulation sticks and not fully trusting the CB ovulation digital tester thing. The cycle I conceived turned out to be 63 days the digital monitor said I'd ovulated around day 17, I was doing cheapy ovulation tests which didn't agree with it, they showed a rise in hormones but the second line was never dark enough, I carried on using the cheapies which showed another rise but not quite enough then a third rise where the second line was super dark. We obviously tried through each rise so at one point I was doing pregnancy and ovulation tests just in case! But conception happened with the third rise that the internet cheapy detected.

I hope you get your bfp soon!

Always had irregular periods, cycle lengths could be anything between 30 days to 6 months. Have 3 kids now. Spent a small fortune on ovulation and pregnancy tests though.

Hi there. I'm in a similar situation. 2 years of TTC, irregular periods 12-67 days. Never knew where I was. Started clomid finally 3 months ago. Have everything crossed it works. It's such a struggle to keep positive and optimistic. But I think these forums are so good to share stories and feelings xx

Liam2018 · 11/01/2020 15:01

Thanks guys a little glimmer of hope! Congrats to you all and well done for keeping so sane lol! I've been using ovulation sticks but so far the below pic is how dark they go never any darker, on cycle day 39 now and still no positive and no idea when period is coming! Should I keep dtd and testing opk or is there no way I would ovulate this late?

Hey Liam, you are on my other thread of TTC :) just thought I’d pop by and let you know I had no idea about my cycles after having the Mirena coil removed , as I was also on the pill before that. Not sure if I told you the story but I got the Mirena taken out end of September 2019, had a withdrawal bleed, then my period started about two weeks later so so heavy, lasted 5 days, then I had a 35 day stretch where I really thought I’d get a BFP as it seemed such a long cycle , then my period came again and then December is when I got my BFP shortly after. There is hope! My only advise is DTD every 2-3 days (you can stretch to 4-5 days if you don’t manage to DTD for a few days as sperm can last 3-5 days anyway!) Dont track, just have sex when you and your partner fancy it , no pressure , and keep going until your period does or doesn’t arrive because you just never know you may ovulate early or late ! You might never get a positive OPK because you can get a really short surge and not have time to catch it on the stick . My LH surges never seemed to show but I still got my positive pregnancy test . I promise you , you won’t regret just taking a chilled approach . Me and my husband had sex once on the week of said fertile period due to his shifts and we were successful. ATB xx

seastargirl · 11/01/2020 15:15

Keep going, it was on my third round of having tests like yours that I eventually got a positive. I tested 3 times a day and think the positive was in the evening.

I was only dtd once I got a early similar to yours today, we just did it when we fancied the rest of the time, I couldn't be bothered with two to three times a week when you could have to do that for 6 weeks on the trot!

Liam2018 · 11/01/2020 16:11

@itsemily thank you! Yeah maybe that's a good idea cause its driving me crazy not seeing a positive! My periods are always so long so it may be I ovulate this late! Congrats on your bfp! I bet it felt amazing seeing that!!!

@seastargirl - wont let me tag you but thanks!! Have you got your bfp or waiting, if your waiting I hope you get it very soon

Had it and had the baby :-) thank you though!

Fingers crossed for you and when it does come join the mumsnet group for your month, we've a lovely little tribe going in ours!

Liam2018 · 11/01/2020 16:35

@seastargirl awww that's even better news lol! Love hearing all the good news cause wont lie sometimes I feel like it's never gonna happen. I think I need to stop thinking about it and daydreaming what it would be like and just take it easy! But how do you stop lol!
