OPK line detection of early pregnancy??

Hi!! Sorry quite new here.

Going mental in TTW

I'm 3/0 days late for AF (my cycle varies 3 days) and also 9/10 days. I know I shouldn't but I did a test this morning and BFN I know it's crazy early. I took an OPK test today just because I was interested and a line has come up.

I've heard they can detect early pregnancy? Picture attached.

If your AF is late then it's not crazy early to take a test! It's right on time 😊 But sorry can't help with OPK detecting pregnancy. Buy a PT tomorrow morning? Fingers crossed for you.

My understanding is that if the opk can pick up hcg then so can a pregnancy test. It's normal to have varying levels of LH in your system throughout your cycle and many women will always see a second line.

But. You aren't out until AF comes so good luck!

Fingers crossed you are PG, but just so you don't get your hopes up too much- OPKs can be positive before your period starts due to a natural drop in progesterone levels which surges the LH levels (which is what I get- positive OPK and then start bleeding a day or 2 later). But they can also confuse LH with HCG as similar chemical make up and therefore detect pregnancy. However a positive OPK around the time of AF is inconclusive as it could either mean AF is on her way or a pregnancy. Hope that helps x

So BFN this morning with a cheapie test still no sign on AF I'm just gonna chill and wait....

OPKs have to be positive if they’re showing signs of pregnancy I believe and that’s not a positive OPK because the test line is lighter than the control line.
