Fertile CM & Symptoms - but no positive OPK?

Hi Ladies,

Month two of TTC baby #1 and I had a few questions!

Currently using the clue app for tracking (tracked for 6 months prior just to monitor periods etc).

My average cycle is 31 days long but last month my lovely period came on CD26 which was dissapointing after first month TTC. I had also started used the clear blue digital OPK from when it suggested I start testing - I got a blank on the first try, then every day from then it was just a blinking smiley face - never got a peak.

This month (January) I decided to not give up on them, but instead used the simple clear blue test that only picks up the LH so it's either blank or smiley. So far, i'm on CD15 and have still not seen a peak! Yesterday (CD14) I had a lot of Egg-White CM and also the day before (CD13) so I DTD with my partner on both days. I've had a lot of ovulation symptoms but getting worried that I wont see a peak again this month! I've tried different times of day etc but seeing no results. Has anyone had this problem? x

I’ve used the ClearBlue LH only ones this cycle. The day I surged I tested in the morning and had negative result but in the evening it was positive. The morning after it was negative again. The window can just be really small. It’s worth testing twice daily from my experience 😊

I would say keep testing, I ovulate really late but my cycles can be anywhere from 32 to 40 days! My luteal phase is always 14 or 15 days x

If you have EWCM, you will probably probably ovulate soon. A typical pattern for me is EWCM from cd14, positive OPK cd16, ovulate cd17. I don’t always get a proper positive on OPKs, but confirm with temping. In some women the LH surge can be very short, so can be easily missed if your checking once per day.

I'd stock up on the cheap Amazon OPKs and test two or three times a day. They cost pennies when bought in bulk so you don't mind using loads. The LH progression can be amazing from morning to evening.
