When did your fertility clinic handover to NHS Maternity?

I've just had a BFP after a cycle with a private fertility clinic. Have a 6 week scan booked with them next week. But just wondered how the handover works? Should I now be contacting my hospital etc, or wait until 1st trimester is over...? (I'm still taking some medications throughout 1st trimester)

Congratulations on your BFP. You don’t need to be discharged from your clinic to get into the NHS system as you will need to arrange your booking in appointment (typically around 9 weeks) and nuchal scan at around 12 weeks so don’t wait til you are past the first trimester. I went to the GP at around 6/7 weeks, before my first scan at the clinic if I recall correctly, and was discharged from the clinic around 9 weeks so there was definitely overlap. @NicLondon1 congrats. I was discharged from the fertility clinic after my 7 week scan. I was given a letter which gave me the number to arrange an appointment with midwife and a letter to send to my GP. You could probably phone the midwife at anytime if you know the number though.

12 weeks but think they just wanted a bit more of money ! Last few weeks were just extra scans and £200 appointments :-/

We were discharged after viability scan at 6w5d... they wrote to my gp and I went straight to surgery to get an appt to book in with midwife.
Congratulations!!

I've stayed under both NHS and private care throughout - so my clinic continued to do scans (early scan at 7 weeks, reassurance scan at 9.5 weeks, gender scan at 16 weeks and 4d scan at 26 weeks). They've also been there for me throughout with questions/concerns when we've had a few scares and the NHS weren't as responsive as I would hope.

After the viability scan at 7 weeks
