9dpo faint positive. Third time in three months. Another chemical pregnancy?

The last two months I have had faint positive tests from 12dpo and then a really late period (a week late). The same seems to be happening this month, although showing up earlier. I'd like to be optimistic and say that I have had a bunch of the same preg symptoms as with my son, and feel different from the last time. But if this does end the same way I'm starting to worry that there's something else at play here that is causing the hcg, because three times in a row seems a little unlikely!!

Sorry a bit dirty for some reason! But pretty clear for 9dpo

I have also conceived three cycles in a row. The first two ended at about 5 weeks and today I had a scan because like you I thought surely this can’t happen 3 times in a row there must be something else but no sign of anything sinister.

Hope all is ok for you. Maybe speak to your GP or go for a private scan like I did today.

X

I had 3 cps from May-September this year. It sucks. It really does. Hopefully this time will work out better for you

user1477259453 · 21/12/2019 08:16

This is today, with a low sensitivity test. I'm 10dpo now, but this is a use from the first day of your period stick. I also feel pretty awful. So I think this time does seem more positive. We'll see though.

Thanks@Whyhaveidonethis. It's not great is it! Messes with your brain! This time defo feels more like when I had my little boy. And the lines being fairly clear at 9dpo/10dpo does suggest higher levels of hcg than last few times. So we'll see!

That looks good to me!! Fingers crossed

It's only going to be faint as that's very early testing. I know it's hard but try and take it as good news unless you have reason not to. Go to the doctors to get it confirmed and then you can try and relax (and not waste money on loads of tests) I'm only saying this as someone who does the exact same as you - I can give advice just not take my own :-)

user1477259453 · 21/12/2019 11:48

Thank you @Newbie1981. It's hard, I'd rather get negatives than three constant positives that fade. Fingers crossed this time is better as the tests are stronger and the sequence is more similar to when pregnant with my son.

@user1477259453 ah yes I get that. Sending lots of hope to you x

@user1477259453 ooh that looks perfect Smile

CatteStreet · 22/12/2019 09:44

Good luck!

Did you ever get a negative test in between these positive ones?

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 22/12/2019 09:49

@user1477259453 ooh I'm building up hopes for you! Sticky baby dust for you x

user1477259453 · 22/12/2019 10:42

Thanks everyone! No @CatteStreet, I've done about eight in the last few days 🤦.On more dilute wee slightly fainter but only negative has been the digital test which was likely too early.

Ah sorry OP, I wasn't clear, I meant between the positive ones you did in the previous months, before your periods arrived. Because if you didn't, it would be sensible to get blood tests/a scan sooner rather than later, just in case these aren't separate pregnancies that mc very early but something else is going on. I really hope it's a new and progressing pregnancy Flowers

user1477259453 · 22/12/2019 16:37

Hi sorry @CatteStreet. Yes I got faint positives, fixed with negatives, and then the period started late. I started to worry myself last month and went to the doctor. We agreed I test through the month. I have been doing preg tests every couple of days for the rest of the month since my period finished and got negatives every time until I was 9 dpo this month. He suggested that all the negative tests wouldn't suggest anything enormously sinister, although I think there are certain cysts that can release hcg only at certain times of the month, like corpus luteum. I will see how this plays out, and probably ask for an early scan even if it does stick. Thank you!

Congratulations! Your last tests look positive.

user1477259453 · 23/12/2019 08:16

Hey sorry to keep sharing on here! Just somewhere I can track progress without worrying about telling people ha. Today's test top and yesterday's below. Really happy with the progress here, definitely different from the last few months. Period due tomorrow.

If you've had negative tests in between I'd say you are repeatedly conceiving, but I do think blood tests might be sensible depending on the progress of this; urine tests aren't really diagnostic in this way (and the strength of the line sadly isn't necessarily indicative).

user1477259453 · 23/12/2019 08:55

Hi @CatteStreet. Thanks, as I say I am taking it seriously and will be following up. But don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that it could just be a few miscarriages and now a normal pregnancy 🤷. We'll see x

OP posts:
CatteStreet · 23/12/2019 09:49

Really hope it all goes well Flowers FWIW I've had lots of miscarriages, incl two in consecutive cycles, as well as three children, so I see absolutely it's possible.
