Brown/light pink spotting but still a BFN test?

So I was supposed to get my period around the 1st or 2nd this month (I'm irregular but my period always starts around that time) and I was spotting brown and light pink for about 5 days and today I wake up and wipe and its bright red. Then, later today it's brown again. I got a negative test yesterday. My question is if I am pregnant would the HCG hormone be strong enough yet to detect? Do I need to get a blood test done? Or should I wait a few days more and test again? I heard it's possible the hcg hormone isnt strong enough yet?

Hi @Alexg24, this isn't going to be very helpful but I had the exact same thing!! It started a week before I was supposed to have my period and was mostly brown tbh and then I went for a wee and wiped (sorry for tmi) and there was blood, but that was it. I've had spotting last couple of days. I did take a test before I came on my 'period' and it was negative.
Just thought I'd say I had had the same thing. Sorry it doesn't answer your question though

@Kliz92 it's ok I am glad to be talking to someone with the same weird issue lol I am super confused. Mine didn't start til the week of when my period was supposed to be here. I have irregular periods but get them every month it's just the cycles change every month.

@Alexg24 I'm sorry for the late reply! Are you still experiencing the brown discharge? It's been nearly 2 weeks for me now on and off and I really wonna know what's going on. Think a trip to the doctors is on the cards!! Xx

This has happened to me before and I was convinced I was pregnant as I had every symptom under the sun. I wasn’t pregnant but good luck Flowers

@Kliz92 It actually stopped today...I go to the Dr Friday to see what's going on. I am still bloated after it stopped.

@Sherrybabyy mine is too heavy to be implantation. So I know it's not that, it's just very weird how for like 2 weeks I've had on and off brown 'period' but no red blood. Do you think I should go to the doctors??

@Kliz92 I think any change or difference in your body should be checked by a doctor. It’s probably nothing serious but your GP will probably want to check you’re not anemic from the bleeding Flowers let us know how you get on
