"Fertility MOT" @ London Women's Clinic

Has anyone had one? I'm wondering whether it's a good idea to get one done "in advance" so I don't get a shock in five years, or whether in five years anything could happen so it would be rendered pointless. Currently late 20s.

I had a fertility mot at London's Women's Clinic after TTC for 6 months.

It was ok - had AMH for ovarian reserve and an ultrasound. They said the ultrasound was fine, but my NHS doctor later diagnosed me with endo via ultrasound, so LWC didn't see this.

Are you thinking of ttc soon? If you are not considering TTC relatively soon then I would question the point of an MOT at your age, if everything is ok it may even give you a false sense of security (ie if you're hormone levels are fine, this doesn't mean they won't change in a couple of years time), and if you're ultrasound doesn't show any cysts/fibroids etc, this doesn't mean that some might grow at a later date.

To be honest I'd wait until you were ready to TTC and if you've got the money spare then do an MOT then (but even then most likely not even needed until you've been trying for 6 months or so)

Thanks @NewSew00 no, we're thinking of TTC in about five years time (which does seem ridiculous now that you ask...). I hadn't thought about hormone levels changing that quickly. Sounds best to wait until it's all a bit more imminent as five years is far too soon to be useful.

Re: trying for six months first - as we're a single-sex couple so I doubt we'd get very far GrinWink
