What time of day did you get your BFPs?

Hi!

Sorry if this has already been covered before. I'm currently two days late for AF according to the Femometer app but I've only had 3 cycles of slightly varying lengths since coming off the pill.

I was originally going to wait until Sunday to test if no AF but I can't think of anything else today. If I do a test on my lunch would it be accurate?

Does anyone have experience of testing during the day vs FMU and if so which brands did you use?

Or should I save my money and wait to see if AF makes and ugly appearance? Hmm

I tested 7pm after work with a cheapy b&m test, came up quite faint, so then did a sainsburys one at about 10pm which was a blazing positive!

basicwitches · 28/11/2019 12:04

I was also 4 days late

MrsERH · 28/11/2019 12:18

Thanks. I really don't know if I should just wait a few more days (then I have a drink at the weekend guilt free - but also if I am then I don't anything!)

So hard to know what to do!

I think its the pee concentration rather than the time.. I got a BFP this morning with first wee of the day, as it gets saved up all night - if you can try not not drink too much as hold your pee for a few hours it should be the same result I think!

MrsERH · 28/11/2019 12:30

@Shuckle - wow congratulations and thank you. Is that your first? I'm still in two minds as I had sore boobs the last few days but that eased off last night which apparently means AF could be on the way rather than pregnant.

TTC is hard Sad

I tested in my lunch break (a Wednesday) and got my bfp however I did test on the Saturday before (again around lunch time) and it was negative.

MrsERH · 28/11/2019 12:37

@popsadaisy - out of curiosity did you use different brands?

I got my bfp 1 day before af due at 8pm. It was very strong but I think I was also a little dehydrated

EscapeTheOrdinary · 28/11/2019 13:04

I used first response too

Shuckle · 28/11/2019 13:27

@MrsERH thankyou, yes it will be my first Smile - I used an early response test from a brand called "Clear and Simple" - you can get them in superdrug, B&M, home bargains etc

MrsERH · 28/11/2019 14:13

Tried a CB and a BFN. eurgh

@MrsERH ive done another one at 2pm and got an even stronger BFP after holding my wee/limiting drinks for a couple of hours - and on a proper First Response FRER. CB's are notorious for not picking it up under a week or so after AF due in many cases as their HCG minimum detection level is quite high.

I have just tried a non-early response again and got absolutely zilch on it. Are you able to try a FRER?

mywrencalls · 28/11/2019 15:58

I tested on the 17th Nov with a amazon cheapie in the evening about 4-5 days before period was due. Came up very faint so retested in the morning with first urine. A little darker but still faint.
Bought 2x clear blue digital the next day. Tested in the eve it said "1-2 weeks" and tested the next morning and got a "2-3 weeks".

sarahc336 · 28/11/2019 16:05

I think if your testing from day period is due you can get a line most time of the day, if testing massively early then best to use first morning urine. With my first I got a bfp after work at 6 pm and I've also had bfp mid morning (ended in Mc) good luck xx

JumpingOnTheBed · 28/11/2019 16:21

Tested at about 3pm being 1 day late using a digital clear blue. Had previously tested before a missed period which I do not recommend! Lots of line eyes!

I was toying with doing after only 1 day late and said to myself if I pass a Boots or Superdrug I will test. Well silly me forgot there was a Superdrug right by where I was going. Test bought!

The very best of luck to you!

MrsERH · 28/11/2019 19:11

Thanks all. I think it will stay as a BFN as it as a CB digital.

@Shuckle - I thought once AF was due these were pretty accurate

@JumpingOnTheBed - have avoided testing before being late for that exact reason! In theory I could have got due date wrong but using 2 apps and they both said I was due Tuesday

Thanks @sarahc336 - that's what I thought but didn't want to check with friends as wouldn't want anyone to know if it had been a BFP until I was more certain it had stuck. No need to worry about that now Sad
