Hey!

So found out I'm pregnant today using frer then confirmed with clear blue digital which said 1 to 2 weeks.

I've just moved house and went to New doctors today to register. When do I get an appointment with doctors? AF is due on Friday. So if I phoned tomorrow and got an appointment would it be to early for doctors to determine pregnancy? Would it come back negative with doctors test?

Sorry I'm new to this and not sure on what steps to take next I really don't want to miss carry so I want to do everything properly.

Thanks any advice would be appreciated x

Ring the Dr's to ask what their process is. With some you can go directly to midwife and don't need to see Dr (unless syou have other health conditions) - Dr will trust the test you've taken and talk about folic acid etc.

@runkle thank you. I brought some folic acid today so I will start to take them daily. I'll give them a call tomorrow to see what they say.

Thanks for your help

Firstly congratulations on your PFP!
When I found I was pregnant my doctors just took my word for it. They gave me a form to fill in for them to send to the midwife it was a self referral. The midwife then contacted me for an appointment. I was about 8 weeks when I had my first midwife appointment ☺️

Are you in the UK? Assuming yes then you don’t need to do anything, when you get closer to 6-8 weeks you can register for a booking appointment with your midwife (your Drs surgery should be able to tell you how to do that - different places do it slightly differently). I know it seems weird now having found out to do nothing but there isn’t really anything to do yet, (GPs don’t confirm pregnancies in this country, they’re just take your word for it that you got a positive test). And congratulations Smile

Congrats! I didnt go to my GPs at all, straight to registering with the community midwives. They'll usually want to have a booking appointment with you at 8ish weeks, then your first scan at 12 weeks. You have a bit of time yet!

I was 3 weeks when I found and rang gp. I was told i needed to ring back at 8 weeks to book appointment with midwife. I didnt see gp or have a test taken.

Congratulations x
