44+ TTC first child - odd alcoholic drink to relax?

My partner (46) and I (almost 44) have been TTC for the past 8 months. We have just had our fertility tests and been told we are fit, healthy and all is well.

We both cut down on alcohol 8 months ago and completely gave up 5 months ago. I've also given up caffeine, he has cut right down and we are eating healthily and exercising. We still love to go out dancing and this has helped us to let our hair down. However, we both feel it would help us to relax even more to have the odd drink when we dance and at other times. I asked our GP about this and he said to 'just be normal'.

I would be really grateful to hear from other ladies who are 43+ and TTC and still drinking occasionally, or those who have had babies at 44+ and whether you still had alcohol on occasion until you got the big fat positive.

I drank and so did DH and conceived age 44. I took all the supplements and ate reasonably healthily too. Good luck.

I conceived my baby on a two week all inclusive holiday abroad. I was drinking during the day at the pool bar and again in the evening at the main bar. No pregnancy issues and baby is fine too.

I was 43!

Do everything as normal, too much change and stress will decrease your chances massively! I always hear of people TTC for 2+ years then take a 'break' so they are relaxed and not even thinking about it and they conceive x

Hi there! 43 (and 6 months) and also ttc first. I'm not much of a drinker anyway I'll be honest. But was on an all inclusive holiday in September and absolutely indulged. It is important to still have something of your life whilst on this journey as it gets heckish stressful xx

@ElectricNat this is an old post but wondering how it all panned out?
Not the drinking!
But TTC at 43?

@Catclock how did it all pan out?
