Success stories after 6 months

I know everyone says it can take up to a year and that's normal, but now going into cycle 7 and feeling more hopeless than ever. I know this isn't that long in the grand scheme of things, but it bloody feels like it! I feel like something is wrong with me and I'm just waiting to get to the point I can get checked (I have very short light periods of 1-2 days and only 23-25 day cycles).
Who out there took longer than 6 months to conceive naturally? Looking for some positivity to keep my hopes up!

Me ..... 9 months for my first, 6 months for the second and the much loved third in the blink of an eye.

Yep, think I was about 9-12 months of TTC. Conceived naturally, all fine & DC2 conceived much quicker. Stay positive, chances are you'll be fine Thanks

Close to two years for me for my youngest. Could of gone to the gp but felt selfish given I already had children. I believe up to a year is completely normal.

@Makeafamily19 I conceived on cycle 8, though I did have a mmc. I'm on cycle 7 in the 2ww since my mc now. I've had fertility tests and I'm normal/ healthy! It is annoying but for some people it just takes longer. It took me quite a long time to accept that my "journey" wasn't going to be pregnant by cycle 3 and off I go.

SuperSimpleSnogs · 25/11/2019 08:03

It was cycle 13 for me before I conceived. Any medical professions who've asked me who long we were trying (GP and midwife) both immediately said it was "quite quick" so obviously not uncommon or abnormal. I appreciate it feels like forever though! No medical issues either, and now I have a wonderful 8 month old.

DC1 took 9-10 months. When I commented to my OB/GYN that it had 'taken a while' she laughed and said that was perfectly normal.

I then got pg another 3 times after that within 1-2 months each time.

I know it's frustrating but fingers crossed it happens for you soon.

Thank you for all your comments and keeping my hope alive ❤️ I know I just need to be patient, I think it's just the thought that if something is wrong you just want to know ASAP! I have wanted a baby all my life so I feel like I've already waited 31 years 😂

It took about that both times for me - 6 months, 7 or 8 cycles. Got BFP both times after starting acupuncture. So I'd highly recommend acupuncture!! It could have been a coincidence though

Chanel05 · 30/11/2019 23:17

I also got a bfp last time after acupuncture. I've had it again now so fx for me haha.

Macbless · 01/12/2019 07:20

It's very early days for me but got a BFP last week in cycle 7. We did nothing any different from other cycles DTD everyone 2-3 days in the run up to ovulation and the last time the day before I ov'd and this time it worked. Why it didn't the other 6months is anyone's guess. Keep going it will happen. (Then the worry about MCs starts!!) xxx

@Makeafamily19 It does start to get disheartening at this point, but keep going.

It took me 11 cycles, I remember thinking if it didn't work that cycle I would be making an appt at the docs.

I had previously had a very stressful few months at work, but the month after everything calmed down, we conceived. It was also the month we didn't plan DTD. I realised after, we DTD the 3 days leading to ovulation but that wasn't planned/tracked at all.

It was also the month I had really started looking after myself (physically and mentally). I swapped coffee for fruit teas, I exercised more, went for more walks, got myself organised, decluttered the house, went out with my friends, I really think that all helped.
