I have a grown up daughter from a previous marriage and my partner and I have decided to try. Didn't have an easy time of it before and had several miscarriages (one at 20 weeks), so I'm apprehensive to say the least. Had my Mirena out last month and have had one period since, and I'm now 0/1dpo if the opks were correct.
Questions I have:

  1. when is the earliest you can test?
  2. is it accurate/worth it? (seems like a massive emotional rollercoaster).
  3. Are any of you in a similar boat regarding age (I'm 39) and situation? TIA

Hi @Blooft you can buy the clear blue tests which can test you 6 days before your missed period. If you're late - take one of those. I took one when I was 5 days late, but only because mine are usually on time I had no concerns about being pregnant. Definitely worth it. Good luck x

Thanks @mlax I think I'm going to try not to test until I'm due on. I'm not sure if my periods will be regular following the removal of my coil, because I didn't have periods with it, and I think uncertainty over being late will drive me a bit crazy! I know it's probably inevitable, but I don't want TTC to take over my entire life, so trying to forget about it until testing day seems like a good tactic for staying sane.
