12 DPO - evaporation line? (photo included)

I'm 12 DPO according to my tracker app. Having been feeling crampy for a couple of days, I thought I'd test and put myself out of misery if it's negative. I've been trying for 6 months now for my second, and find it so disappointing every month I'm not pregnant.

ANYWAY, this time there was definitely a very very faint something. I attach a photo I took immediately after testing, though it looked a bit darker in real life. Can anyone see it? Can you get evaporation lines a couple of mins after testing?

Should I test again today or is that too soon?? Thanks all.

I can't figure out if I can see something or if it's my eyes playing tricks. I'd try again with FRER if I were in your position 🍀

I can deffo see something... which tests are they? I used one step strips a couple of weeks ago and the evap/indent lines were shocking. I was sure I was pregnant however DP did one and it too showed a faint line 😩 not to dishearten you tho as it's still very early! Try a frer good luck xx

Thank you for the replies. I read an article about evaporation lines today, written by a clinician. Apparently it's only an evaporation line if it's grey. If it's red or blue, it's from HCG in the urine. I hope this is true!

Please detest and let us know!! 🤞🏼

AriadneO · 21/11/2019 12:03

In case anyone's interested, I tested again today and got the same faint line. Perhaps marginally stronger than yesterday, but hard to tell. 13 DPO today according to app...

It's really hard not to get excited. Am I supposed to be seeing clear progression of the line over even one day?

Have you got any FRER tests? I've also just read that sometimes late afternoon/evening is the best time to test in the early days. Faint line is definitely promising!

Ginandgingers92 · 21/11/2019 15:03

@AriadneO not necessarily, everyone is different, but for me sometimes the lines looked fainter than the day before, sometimes much stronger. Are these FRERs you're taking? They're much more sensitive than the strips, I got my positive on a FRER 4 days before my period was due and it was very clear, I could see nothing on the strips!
Failing that, a clearblue digital is always very clear too! 🤞🏼

AriadneO · 21/11/2019 15:11

Thank you! I haven't got an FRER and can't be bothered to get one seeing I have a batch of these one step cheapies! I also feel constant testing isn't good for my stress levels, so I will probably not get an FRER and let the next few days/week speak for itself. Keeping all fingers crossed Smile

Great idea! Fingers crossed for you

Snowflake9 · 21/11/2019 15:18

Are you definitely sure on your DPO? Tracker apps aren't very reliable at testing your ovulation. Do you do OPKS? Temping?

AriadneO · 21/11/2019 15:38

@Snowflake9 hmm not super sure, but my cycles are quite regular. I dabbled with OPKs but tbh struggled to interpret them. I did have a load of egg white cervical mucus (sorry TMI) two days after the predicted ovulation day, so it's possible I'm two days out and only 11 rather than 13 DPO...

Sounds like you may be 2 days out lovely. I found tracking BBT to be the only way I knew for sure.

AriadneO · 22/11/2019 10:36

So... I think it's BFP! I've tried to not get excited but the lines are getting stronger (see pic - 12, 13 (did it twice Grin in morning and afternoon), and 14 DPO.

The only thing is, these one step test strips aren't very strong to start with, but do darken significantly over time. The line is pink, so I can assure myself it's not an evaporation line.

Congratulations on your BFP!!

Ginandgingers92 · 22/11/2019 11:51

100% a BFP, congratulations!!

Snowflake9 · 22/11/2019 12:16

Oh wow!! Bfp for sure. Congratulations!!!

Thank you! Star
