Could I be pregnant from one time?

Hello,

I’ve been using the clear blue ovulation tests (pink cap) for 2 months, got a smiley at 10am on the morning and tried that night. Apart from that, didn’t try at all during that ovulation period.

Anyway, my period was due on Friday meaning my period is now 2 days late. During the last year, my period has come on either day 32 or 33 every month and not any later but previously to this year it used to be a bit more all over the place (could be anywhere between 31-36).

I don’t want to do a test yet as feel it’s too early, and my period could still come :(
My question is, is it at all likely to conceive from just that once?

Thank you :)

Yes, of course it is. DS2 is proof.

If your period is late then there's no point torturing yourself in my view. You'll get an accurate result now so I'd just test.

You do know it only takes 1 sperm!

Do the test and best of luck!

BillywilliamV · 17/11/2019 09:23

Of course you could be, good luck and keep us posted please!

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/11/2019 09:25

Of course, it literally only takes once - one sperm, one egg, one act of sex.

Thanks.

I’ve just tested quite a few times before, and they’ve always been negative and that’s after a good few times of trying during that months ovulation period. I guess I just needed some reassurance as ridiculous as that sounds!
Thanks everyone

Any update?

BelleBox19 · 17/11/2019 11:35

Yes! DH and i have been on our TTC journey for almost 3 years with a break recently.

We DTD once on my last cycle and miraculously I'm now 6 weeks pregnant. We were in shock! Very possible.

Good luck OP x

ALL pregnancies are just from one time!

ShippingNews · 17/11/2019 11:40

My DD was the result of one encounter during that entire month. Yes it certainly can happen. Good luck.

I've been pregnant from the first and only try before, as I got a water infection and missed the rest of the "window".

If you're late I'd grab a cheap test today and just try! Why not. If you feel it's unlikely anyway, you've got nothing to really lose!

You can get £1 tests from Poundland, B&M style shops and supermarkets etc.

Good luck! X

All pregnancies really are only from one time! Even if you dtd multiple times in a month, it’s only ever one specific time that results in pregnancy..

Oh, congratulations!

Was just coming on to say that my DS2 only took one try as well Smile

MaraScottie · 17/11/2019 19:22

Ah congratulations!!

EmilyD21 · 17/11/2019 19:51

Thank you so much! Still can’t believe it!

Congratulations

My last 2 pregnancies have been the result of having sex once in a cycle Grin
