More Cervical mucus before BFP?

Hi, so I ovulated Sunday 3rd October , I’m 8dpo although I haven’t been using OPKs as we wanted to reduce stress of TTC . But according to my CM that’s when I ovulated . We have been DTD a good amount this month , aiming every 2-3 days as soon as my period ended on Friday 25th . According to my ovia app AF was due today but so far I haven’t had anything . Too early to test as I’m only 8dpo but since ovulation I’ve had more watery CM than usual , as usually it dries up quite fast . Today I had more of a cream coloured EWCM. Very stretchy and at first it felt like my period had arrived , I went to the loo and it was just lots of stretchy CM ! I have lower abdo cramping and have been extremely tired since about 5DPO. Also have had a cold for the last couple of days which is probably contributing to the tiredness . Does any of this sound like something promising though ? I’d love to hear good news and success stories !

OP, are you sure AF is due if you're 8DPO?

I understand your acronyms OP, they're very common.

I didnt get any EWCM pre BFP. That came way after. The way I KNEW I was pregnant (before testing) was when I went for a short walk and felt HORRENDOUS, had to sit down afterwards. It was so unusual I just knew at that point.

Bezalelle you see I am glad you said that, as that is one of the reasons I have been confused. Because if AF was due today, it seems like a really short cycle? But Ovia says so, which really threw me. I really don't know. If it isn't due today and the app has got jumbled, would it be unreasonable to to a PG test on Friday ?
@CAG12 I feel really odd but don't want to get my hopes up until I know 100% that AF is late. Congrats on your positive !

@Astrabees DTT means doing the deed, TTC means trying to conceive, CM means cervical mucus, EWCM means egg white cervical mucus, AF means aunt-flow , period basically, DPO means days past ovulation. Hope that helps.

I've been pregnant 7 times (but lost 6 but that's by the by) - over the 5 years of TTC I've had a range of cervical mucus - EWCM, watery, creamy etc and honestly they've all been a BFN

The only standout BFP have been accompanied with more gelatinous mucus (like the sticky stuff you get on the front of magazines with a free gift - sorry that's the only way I can describe it 🤣)

Cervical mucus is just a response to changing hormones which can be both a BFP and a BFN - EWCM is a sign of high estrogen levels which fluctuates during your cycle and can indicate thickening of the lining to help support implantation and creamy is progesterone - again fluctuates before your period x

@Itsemily id say 8DPO for AF is abit early.

In terms of when to POAS I got a BFP 4 days before AF was even due.

I remember having lots of cm in early pregnancy but can't remember when it started, sorry. I don't know how your app works but is it possible that you're only ovulating now? What's the length of your usual luteal Phase? 8 days seem very short.

@Peanutty86 I’m sure I ovulated last week . I had the coil out end of September and not had a period since being on it so I have no idea about my cycles or anything 😫 I know I ovulated 13th September because I went for a vaginal ultrasound to find my coil and she told me I had just ovulated then , and then I ovulated 12th October because I did a clear blue and it told me my peak day, then I had my first proper period since coil removal on 21st-25th October , and then seemed to ovulate at an odd time after that. But I haven’t tracked this month as DH didn’t feel comfortable last time because he felt like it was all very routine . Which I get . So I haven’t done it this month and have felt much happier myself but now I’m just well confused 🤷🏼‍♀️

That's amazing you managed to keep calm and respect your husband's wishes.
The thing with the clear blue or any other OPKs is that they only show your body preparing to release an egg, they never show that it actually has done, sometimes the body needs a couple of tries and the only reason to confirm this is by ultrasound or a temp rise, if you were temping. Often the day of the positive OPK would also not be ovulation day but the day/hours before. The LP from Ovulation after the scan seems good, it's unlikely that it just cuts down to 8 days. Your app might just have a glitch in its algorithm and you're actually not 'due AF' today. It's very difficult to know exactly what's going on without a temp chart. I'm sorry it's so confusing for you. Are you wanting to test or are you holding out to wait and see?

There was no point in causing stress between us as we are still really new to TTC and you just never know how long it will take , so best to keep it calm . Maybe I was ovulating yesterday then ? We have been good at keeping up with DTD, so if I did ovulate yesterday , the closest to ovulation sex we had was DTD Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd , we tried last night but weren’t fully successful if you see what I mean. But the weekend was a success so hopefully some little guys would’ve hung around for yesterday ? Who knows 😩 not gonna bother testing until next week now as I reckon my period is due next week if I calculate things right myself . It would make more sense ?

@itsemily I have the same app and it tells me to test too early because my cycles vary. once I ovulate I have to amend my cycle length in the profile bit by adding 12 days my normal luteal phase onto the day I ovulated. If this makes sense. Ovia usually tells u that AF is due 12 days after ovulation. Sometimes it doesn't pick up that I've added a positive OPK and doesn't amend the date my period is due which it sounds as if it's done on yours x

Did you test? What was the out come of this as I’m kind of in the same boat x
