Does anyone else spot for days before a period?

I posted about this previously but didn’t get much response and it’s happening again and totally frustrating me.

I came off my pill 6 months ago and each month I have spotted before my period, which of course is not unusual. However, the spotting has been beginning earlier and earlier - last month i began spotting for a full week before my period. This month I did OPK’s and could pinpoint ovulation to Wednesday last week, meaning I am 5 DPO (10 days before my expected period) and the spotting has already started!! It’s not implantation as it happens every single month.

Does anyone else who has experienced this have positive stories? I’m worried that my progesterone levels are dropping far too early to sustain a possible pregnancy. Any advice appreciated.

If it's getting earlier into your cycle maybe it's something to get checked? As yes it can be a sign of a drop in progesterone, maybe a quick blood test could check this? Good luck xx

I have this too, usually for 5 days before an actual bleed. It drives me mad as I need to use pads so end up feeling like I've been on a 2 week period. So I feel your pain!
I've considered talking to my GP about this but am not sure if there is any point, maybe I will take PP's advice and ask about a progesterone test.

I always have spotting around 3 days before my period, and that is usually 10 or 11dpo for me. I had no problem getting pregnant at all and fell first month of ttc. It was one of the reasons which made me test early as I didn't get my usual spotting that month!

I always get spotting before my period too, sometimes a few days or sometimes a week, I did manage to conceive my ds so don't lose hope. I also researched the cause of this and came to the conclusion of low progesterone, I decided to use natural progesterone cream which I bought online and applied it to my chest/breasts (I'd read this is the best absorption area), however what I can't remember is if I was still using it when I conceived or if it actually worked and decreased the spotting (4+ years ago now) but it could be worth looking into.
