Hi!
DH and I had our last baby 4 years ago ( she actually turns 4 today!)
After the baby I managed to somehow get pneumonia - nothing to do with pregnancy just a bad coincidence.
But anyway DH majorly panicked thinking I would never be healthy again and got a vasectomy Hmm.

Since the he has regretted it and we have both wanted more children . We are finally in a position financially where we could do that without any issues and so we have decided to go for it.

Dh will be booking a consultation about a reversal in the next couple of weeks.

I am very excited but also too scared to be excited at the same time.

Dh has surgery on his testicles as a child because of testicular tortion and I have this fear that will somehow doom the reversal.

Also I am 36 now and google tells me I am old for a baby and my chances of pregnancy are way older than a 4 years ago.

We have older children who are teenagers 15 and 13 and with all my previous pregnancies I got pregnant in the first cycle trying so I am so worried we have left it too late !

I still have very regular periods so hopefully that counts in my favour .

Anyway I am just looking for people to chat to as I can’t really tell anyone in real life (it might get back to MIL and SIL who pushed DH to get the darned vasectomy while I was ill Angry

Hi havingamadmoment, I'm nearly 33 and currently TTC after my OHs reversal. He had it in August and we starting trying last month . Trying not to get my hopes up , everybody seems to be getting pregnant. Have you been looking at clinics?

Hello! Has your partner got a date for his consultation? I wouldn’t worry too much about your age (36 is not old!) my mum was 43 when she had me. Try not to stress, it’s an exciting time! Your periods are regular which is always a good thing. As your partner had his reversal 4 years ago you have a much better chance of a successful reversal. My partner had his reversal in September, 12 years after his vasectomy so our success rate is lower but not impossible (keeping my fingers and toes crossed here!) I can’t comment on your partners previous surgery you mentioned but the consultant should be able to advise if it will affect the reversal. The consultant we had felt for something around the area (sorry I don’t know what) to be able to tell if it was viable for us to go ahead with the surgery. I was worried it wouldn’t be straight forward due to issues with the initial vasectomy but the surgery went very well with no complications! We are just waiting to test for swimmers now 🤞will start TTC this month . Happy to answer any questions! Smile
