Hi, I recently had the Mirena IUD removed, on Sept 20th. I have had the mirena since 2011, and had it replaced in 2016. So collectively with no period for 8 1/2 years. I bought an ovulation kit, and after four days of negative ovulation tests on Sept 28th I got my first happy face. I got High/peak fertility from sept 28th-30th. I have had no period since the removal of my IUD, and a bunch of negative pregnancy tests. Is it still possible I could be pregnant? If I ovulated three weeks ago why have I not had a period if i am NOT pregnant? My doctor said that my periods should come back to normal. She's been working with me for 9 years. I am trying to get pregnant, I dont drink or smoke, i am active and I take my prenatal vitamins every day as well as eat healthy. Should I be worried I haven't had a period? Could I be expecting a positive test soon?

It took months for my cycle to readjust after mirena removal. You may not have ovulated, maybe your body was just getting ready to ovulate but didn't.

I didn’t get my first period for 40 days after my coil was removed and I’ve heard people where it’s taken longer. My doctor said to go back if I hadn’t had one after 6 weeks so that’s what I was planning on doing but it turned up just before then. I also had no periods on the coil so I’d give it a few more weeks and then see your doctor if it hasn’t shown up.

I bought an ovulation kit, and after using it for a week after I got my IUD taken out I had a "smiley face" on my ovulation test, which checks out because I was having an odorless milky discharge, and my breasts got tender and bigger. According to the kit I was ovulating for 3 days. I never got my period after that. Im just concerned my doctor said I could get my period right after IUD removal.

As I said earlier, you can have an LH surge that is your body trying to ovulate but not actually ovulate. So you could have positive opks but not actually ovulate. If they were positive for 3 days it sounds like your body tried hard to ovulate but didn't. It will try again or you will have an anovulatory cycle, bleed and then start again. It's fairly normal. Lots of people have messed up cycles after Coming off birth control. It can take months to settle down. If you are worried go see your GP
