Has anyone tried Dong Quai?

Since coming off the pill a year ago to start TTC (we’re on month 10 now) I’ve had much lighter periods - 3 days max, one day of light-medium flow, then another light day then spotting. I’m not overly worried about it - I’m sure I’m ovulating and my periods are regular-ish (26-30 days) - but wondered if anyone had tried Dong Quai to encourage a heavier period/thicker uterine lining?

Hi @MoosliMoo

Since coming off my pill last July my periods have been very light and short. My longest has been 3 days (very light then medium and back to light) some months it's been just one day of medium and then it's gone. I went to the doctors and he was adamant that it didn't mean anything, he said as long as I'm having a period every month it's fine and that too much blood loss is more of a concern.

I'm still not pregnant but the doctor is sure it's nothing to do with that so I wanted to reassure you. I have had 2 blood tests to check hormones and that I'm ovulating and everything came back "perfect" I also had an internal pelvic scan and that was also normal.

I went to acupuncture for 5 months and she also prescribed herbal medicine to see if it helped but I didn't see a change and my cycles actually went longer so I stopped (it's also expensive).

Hoping I get my BFP soon and fingers crossed so will you! Xxx

Hi @Maisy24, thanks so much for your reply. Glad it’s not just me! Same as you, all my test results are coming back normal so I’m trying to come round to the idea that it’s just taking us a while. Fingers crossed for us both x
