Help with ovulation tests please, have I missed my surge?

First month using ovulation test strips and the Glow app. Normal 28 day cycle but can be 26/27/29 on occasion. Cycle day 1 was 19/09.
Started testing on 25th and the strips gradually got darker but never a strong positive where the test line was as dark as the control line.
Used the strip analyser in the app so you can see in the picture, all fine. But today I've taken two tests and they're completely negative, almost not there.
Do you think I've missed the surge or just not had one? App predicts ovulation tomorrow but if the tests are negative today does that mean it's already happened?
Do the strips gradually darken even if you don't ovulate?
Sorry for all the questions, just a bit confused!

Help with ovulation tests please, have I missed my surge?

I used the Premom app and easy@home ovulation sticks this month, once you take a photo of the stick it gives a t/c ratio reading and states whether it’s low, high or peak rather than just a positive or negative reading. This was my first month of using them and found I was low on CD11, peak on CD12 and back to low on CD13. It was good to see that the peak day ratio was a lot higher than the other readings. I’m no expert on ovulation sticks, however I found having a ratio reading made them easier to understand and know for certain my peak day. I would keep testing as maybe you haven’t ovulated yet - as I said I had a low reading then the next day my peak so the surge can be sudden. Good luck

I would say you possibly ovulated on CD12-13

Mine usually get darker slightly and I start doing two a day so I don’t miss it.. then bam it’s there.. Did you manage to time it okay with dtd? xx

Thanks for replies.
I dtd yesterday morning, planned to last night but was a wash out for various reasons. Definitely will tonight but yes may have missed it completely which is fine for now.
I normally get the ewcm on cycle days 9-11 so I have a feeling I ovulate a bit earlier than app says.

Will keep testing for a few more days and definitely download a few more apps for the tests.

I'm assuming then if I do get a pink line of sorts that gradually gets darker it's leading up to ovulation even if I miss the positive test?

I didn’t get darker lines on the days leading up to ovulation, I just had faint lines every day then got my positive and back to faint the following day. Try testing at the same time each day and if it’s showing darker test again later on. Have you been ttc for a while?

@LRC44
First month properly trying. I have two children, a nearly 13 year old and a 3 year old.
I bought ovulation strips when I started ttc my toddler but fell pregnant straight off the pill without even having a period so didn't get to use them and never learned!
DC1 was a happy accident so I'm a complete novice.
I have been using the Ovia app to track my periods since having DC2 as I didn't go back to contraception. I've had a little count up of the last year and my cycle is actually more often 26 days so I could very well have ovulated earlier than the app states and caught the lead up to ovulation but missed the positive.

@pollysproggle I had a miscarriage in August, so decided to use ovulation sticks this month just to make sure my cycle had returned to normal before ttc again

pollysproggle · 02/10/2019 21:38

Sorry for your loss @LRC44 Thanks

Have you had any sort of pink lines so far this month?
