Hi everyone. Up til now (many, many months of trying - 3MCs and one DC) I have used cheapie OPKs and they've worked fine, but this month in an effort to identify a longer fertile period, I'm hoping to give Clearblue digital OPKs a go.

We usually try to DTD every other day from around CD14, but my cycles can vary a lot. This month I didn't get a positive OPK til CD24, so it was a lot of 'wasted' DTD which would be fine but my DH suffers from performance anxiety so it's quite stressful.

My question is - do you DTD every day, when you get a flashing or static smiley? I would like to catch as much of the fertile period as possible, but I'm worried the flashing smilies might go on for ages and we'll have exhausted ourselves by the time I get a static one.

Would we be better off starting DTD every other day from the first flashing smiley, then DTD the day of the static smiley and the one after? Any advice appreciated - thanks! x

Hi @waitingforarainbow it's hard to say because some people will only get a couple of flashing smiley before the static in which case it's easier to cover all days but some people might get 6/7/8 + flashing days

I usually get one or 2 days flashing then the static so I just try to dtd every other day I have heard having sex every day makes the sperm quality lower x

@waitingforarainbow if he is struggling I would just wait to DTD until you get your flashing smiley, every other day until you get the static and then daily if you can. But if you don’t manage daily I really wouldn’t worry. Too much sex can sometimes have the opposite result!

@mrssunshinexxx @TwinkleStars15 Thanks so much, both. That's really helpful. I think we will try DTD every other day from the first flashing smiley, and both days of the static smiley if possible. It will be nice to hopefully avoid starting DTD too early this month. x
