TTC after a miscarriage/baby loss

Hi Ladies!

I wonder if there is anyone on here who, like me, has suffered a miscarriage (or other type of baby loss) recently and is currently TTC? I couldn't find any relevant live threads. If so, please feel free to join!

Few words about me, I'm just about to turn 33, I had a missed miscarriage followed by medical management nearly 4 months ago, at 10 weeks. I have slightly longer cycles since (37 days, 35 and now 37 again). I have started my TTC journey in the last two cycles, but no success yet. I've been a part of a wonderful thread on MN with ladies who have been through a similar experience and we've been great support to each other. However, they have suffered their losses a bit earlier than me, and most of them are pregnant now and close to the second trimester or even further along.
I'm not pregnant, and I didn't want to be the odd one out. I'm also pretty sure there's more of us on here who are falling through the net and who didn't get pregnant straight away after the loss! It doesn't happen to everyone!

The press and the docs seem to think it happens so easily and quickly (especially if you got pg quickly first time round - that's my story) and it makes you feel inadequate if it didn't happen. That's rubbish, a lot of us struggle afterwards.

Equally, women who haven't experienced a prior loss cannot fully relate to our experience because often the pressure of becoming pregnant again to fill the void and emptiness after the loss is huge and feels completely different to TTC with no such history before. It also often involves anxiety that can only be understood by other grieving mums.

So, if this is how you're feeling now, please know you're not alone & feel free to join the discussion & share your story. Lots of love Xxx

Hi @MrsMGE

Im very sorry for your loss ❤️ I have had 2 MMCs this year, one in April and one in September (3 weeks ago today).

There's a few of us supporting each other, come and join us on here:www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/3683219-TTC-after-pregnancy-loss-32-the-penguin-huddle
I'm not currently ttc again as I struggled with my fertility before my first pregnancy (it took over 16 months to conceive) so I'm under a fertility clinic. I also have fibroids which flared up during my second pregnancy, so I'm waiting for an operation to have one removed before we ttc again. I'm also waiting for a recurrent miscarriage clinic appointment.

The thread is very supportive and has got me through some dark times xx

Thank you @MrsMGE it is totally heartbreaking. I hope you're OK. Patience has never been my strong point, so have struggled a bit with being so out of control. Like you say, things are moving forward, hopefully in the right direction 🤞

I'll see you on the other thread :) xx

Hi @MrsMGE sorry to hear about your loss :(

I am so pleased to find this. Like you I suffered a loss later than the majority of women on the miscarriage threads. I am strugglign with the lack of informations, I like to know the in's and out's of everything.

We lost our second baby Alex at 16 weeks on 26th Ausgust, Just over 1 month ago. I have just stopped bleeding and am eager to conceive again. However it took us 1 year to conceive Alex and a similar timescale with our DD1. Currently I am using ovulation tests but with no positive results, I have no idea when AF is going to appear either.

We are also waiting for genetic testing results to come back from the miscarriage. All the waiting is killing me. All I see is stories of how women conceived in their first cycle afterwards and people falling pregnant.
