Bad cramping after AI insemination, am I ok?

Hi! My husband and I have been doing home insemination, using a special syringe, new each time. I've been getting uncomfortable cramps on the same side after each time. First I though excitedly 'oh! Maybe it's implantation or ovulation' or something, but now Im a bit worried. Googling is inconclusive. Am I doing something wrong? Worried I'm causing myself injury and wasting the sperm! Can anyone help give advice of how they've found it?

I don't think anyone on here can give you medical advice about this.

If you're really concerned or in a lot of pain I'd ring 111.

Do stop though until you've spoken to a doctor! I'd think the risk of infection is quite high.
