Varicocele success stories?

My partner has a varicocele, have read up a lot on it and know it can affect fertility. Would love to hear successful pregnancies/children when your OH has a varicocele? (Without IVF, ICSI or having the varicocele operated on - just letting it all happen naturally!!) OH isn't too keen on having the operation. TIA x

My dp has this, just had his sperm tested, results on monday! I’m really hoping we are going to be okay to conceive naturally!! Has your dp done a sperm test? Xx

Hey @laurlaur303. Was just nosing at this board and glad I did. My husband has a huge..... varicocele and an epididymal cyst 😂 we had it checked out after 6 months of ttc with DS. They basically told us that it shouldn’t have any effect on fertility and they’d be really reluctant to do it on the off chance it would help. We conceived DS after 10 months naturally (as naturally as ttc madness is!) and currently on cycle 10 of ttc #2. I’m sure he could have it done privately as they will generally operate on lots of things that the local CCG (clinical commissioning group) won’t fund on the Nhs.

@Chefwifelife that’s wonderful to hear! Do you think it took longer to conceive due to this issue? My partner is younger than me but he has a lot of pain down there.. which concerns me 😥
I’m hoping when we see the dr next week the sperm results come back okay! Xx

@laurlaur303 I’m not entirely sure. My husband is a chef and works long hours in a hot kitchen so I think that probably was more of a factor. I think if he’s having pain they would be much more likely to do something (this is backed up in the NICE guidelines). Let us now how the sperm result go.

My husband has this, identified two years ago after the birth of our first DD. I’m now pregnant with our second, fell pregnant on the second month of trying.

@sunflower2019 sorry for the delay but how did your results go in the end? Any luck TTC? X

Update on this as I couldn't find much when I was looking.. partner went for a sperm test and the results were inconclusive as he was dehydrated. Didn't bother booking another test as the pandemic outbreak.... and I've now found out I'm pregnant as a surprise! Hope this gives people some reassurance x
