TTC and an ovarian cyst?

During initial tests for fertility treatment, I found out that I have a 7.5cm-8.5cm ovarian cyst. I've to go back next week for repeat testing. Does anyone have any experience of this at all whilst TTC? Please tell me how things went for you.

I had been ttc for 14 months before getting an 8cm cyst removed in June 2018 by a laparoscopy. I fell pregnant in August 2018 but sadly miscarried in October.

I found I had more cysts and this year had them removed in June but still nothing.

I also had lots of adhesions which was more likely stopping me from conceiving but they are all sorted though I think they've came back due to pain I feel.

Consultant told me there is only 1 type of cyst that's stops conception and it's very very rare.

Thanks @Michellebops that's reassuring. Hope things happen for you soon.

If possible, get them removed before continuing to TTC. I had one get infected in my first pregnancy and the surgery to drain that caused me to miscarry. Several months later it became infected again and was removed (along with an ovary) but I conceived as soon as I was allowed to ttc again (three months later I think?) and have since had two easy, successful pregnancies. Good luck Flowers

I had 2 6cm cysts in June/ July. Went back a month later to check if they had grown (if so I would have had them removed) but they had gone! I have just found out I am 5 weeks pregnant...so didn’t affect me for long. The first month I had no period and took norethisterone to induce it, then things went back to normal and the cysts disappeared.

PS do you know what sort of cyst it is?

justbeingelle · 19/09/2019 06:47

@Robs20 I've to go back and get rescanned next week so hopefully it'll have begun to shrink. It's a simple cyst , google tells me those are less complicated which is positive.

I have an 11cm ovarian cyst that has been with me since my pregnancy with my DD. Recently fallen pregnant again but sadly miscarried at 7 + 2 but there was no indication from doctors that the cyst was causing any problems TTC or with the miscarriage.

Hello,

Saw this thread and had to comment as I know it would have helped me when I had a cyst. I had a 8.9cm cyst and experienced terrible pain for about a week. After this time the pain steadily decreased. At my second ultrasound the cyst had gone!. I had a third ultrasound 2 days ago and still no cyst. Throughout we were still ttc but haven’t become pregnant and I honestly think my hormones were effected and have needed time to rebalance as I’ve had shorter periods and cramping during ovulation which I didn’t experience before. I’m currently in two week wait and feeling much more hopeful.

Forgot to mention mine was fluid filled with some solid mass sections. I was sent for blood tests by my GP as well and there was no indication of cancer.
