Confused...positive OPK and pregnancy test?

I went to take another OPK and after I'd done it I realised that I'd pulled a pregnancy test out instead. A faint positive came up within a few seconds, but I really don't think it's possible. I stopped my pill on 5th August and had a five day bleed on 1st September, assuming it was a period as opposed to a withdrawal bleed. It was definitely too red and too heavy for implantation bleeding. I've been getting positive OPKs since Friday. I'm assuming the pregnancy test is a faulty one as I can't see how it could be possible that I could be pregnant? The OPK is the top photo and the pregnancy test is the bottom one.

I guess it never hurts to take a second test?

Crazymummyto3 · 15/09/2019 19:52

I will take one in the morning, I only took the one above by accident! I'm guessing it's a faulty test though as I don't think I could possibly be pregnant

OPK tests will show a pregnancy too sometimes. Interesting. There's still time to get to a shop tonight 💁🏻‍♀️Grin

@Sux2buthen I have another test at home but think I'll wait until the morning. I'm thinking it's not though as I had what I thought was my first period since stopping the pill only 2 weeks ago. It was too red and heavy for implantation and surely I couldn't have a withdrawal bleed at the same time as conception?? 🤷‍♀️ I'm confused!! Does the bottom one look positive to you?

Well it's a possibility. False positives are very rare, HCG is either present or it isn't so in most cases if there's any colour at all its positive.
I don't have patience lol I'd be testing again but obviously you're just stronger than me Grin

Crazymummyto3 · 15/09/2019 20:23

@Sux2buthen If I had more than one test I would be doing it tonight 🤣 I think it's because I don't believe it, and disappointed myself by testing too much last month

Well I have fingers and toes crossed for you. There's so many variables with cycle lengths, implantation, ovulation days etc etc etc that in the end I just think almost anything is possible. But if you aren't sure what you see then do post a pic tomorrow if you want to. Good luck 🤞🏻

Every OPK stick I took when I was pregnant showed up positive right away. Still do and I’m 23 weeks plus.

Crazymummyto3 · 15/09/2019 22:06

If I hadn't had a 'period' a couple of weeks ago I would believe it, but it's that that's making me think it's faulty. Arrrgh, so tempted to take my other test but I know I should wait for fmu. We've dtd tonight as well going from the OPK 🤣

Took a FRER this morning and it was negative, which I was expecting, so it must have been a faulty test ☹️

☹️well I'm sorry. I'm sending lots of good luck for the results you want as soon as possible xx

Crazymummyto3 · 16/09/2019 10:01

@Sux2buthen Thanks, I honestly didn't think it could be due to timings. I'm not holding out for much hope for this month as we haven't dtd in the run up to ovulation due to two of our children then hubby having a sickness bug ☹️

So sorry OP! I’m annoyed for you that the test gave hope
