Trying for number 3

beccamums29 · 04/08/2019 17:19

Hi. I'm new to mumsnet, I have a 5 year old boy and 3 year old girl. Currently trying for number 3, only on the first month and on the 2 week wait. I didnt really have to try with the other 2 and this is not good for an impatient person 😆 anyone else trying for number 3?

That is a good point. I suppose because the (hopeful) third will be the last I worry about gaps

Crazymummyto3 · 11/08/2019 00:37

Not number 3, but we're just about to start trying for number 4. We fell pregnant pretty much straight away with our first three. They are currently 9, 6 and 21 months.

RainMinusBow · 11/08/2019 00:55

I'm trying for my no. 3 baby with fiancé. If we're successful (big "if" as I'm 38 with history of miscarriages) then this will be his first (and last!!)

My sibling age gaps will be...err...slightly bigger than for most of you - my boys are 9 and 12! Shock

beccamums29 · 11/08/2019 09:03

What symptoms do you have ladies if any? I'm trying not to read to much into mine, nausea but it doesn't feel like pregnant nausea if you know what I mean, I find pregnant nausea kind of feels different to eaten something dodgy nausea. My nipples are a bit sore and I feel really tired about an hour after I've got up. All good signs but I just don't 'feel pregnant' I'm driving myself bonkers 😆

Noticed I'd said pretty much the exact same thing on Wednesday 😆

Me too! It was easy to conceive with my first two, it is taking longer for #3, trying to think positive...!

Chaosonthehorizon · 11/08/2019 10:43

Well I thought I had symptoms last month but af turned up and no symptoms this month and I am pretty sure she has arrived on the predicted day again! Light pink on wiping anyway (sorry tmi) anyway ladies what would you do? DH and I will still be on hols right over the end of period (which we missed last month) but then I go to friends for two nights with the kids, would you can it in favour of baby making? OPK’s don’t seem to work for me so reckon I O right at the end of my period but to be safe I want to then DTd every other night for the month. Also meant to be going camping 😱

beccamums29 · 12/08/2019 06:47

So first response tests are supposed to be able to detect from 6 days pre AF, I'm 2 days pre AF today and I did one with my first pee this morning and its 100% BFN so I'm taking that to mean I'm out this month. I'll be surprised if AF doesn't show. I'm trying not to be disappointed as it's only the first month but why do I feel so tired and have the nausea and sore nipples...I think it's my body tricking me.

I use cheap strips I bought online. I got up at 4.30 to do a 10k and got a faint positive, got a darker one when I got back (hadn't drunk anything), I'm not due af until Thursday so now I'm worrying its twins 😂

For those with symptoms, in previous pregnancies once I start taking prenatal vitamins and trying to get pregnant my body plays tricks, I'd get nauseous, my period was late, its very cruel 😢

beccamums29 · 12/08/2019 11:17

@@pinkpeoniesplease oooo exciting :) keep us updated x

OP posts:
Chaosonthehorizon · 12/08/2019 19:25

pinkpeonies exciting 😀how long have you been trying?

pinkpeoniesplease · 13/08/2019 09:54

This was the first month trying this time around. Although I've had a miscarriage before at around 6 weeks so not celebrating just yet!
Did a test this morning and hardly anything there, did another with second morning wee (hadn't drunk anything) and got a positive clearer than yesterday.

Anyone else had any luck?

beccamums29 · 13/08/2019 14:25

Nothing for me yet, I'm due AF tomorrow, I'm very tired but other than that no other symptoms now. I'm really not sure what's going to happen. With my daughter though I'd tested before AF was due and got a negative, actually had AF then found out I was pregnant after. So I was one of these that has a period despite being pregnant. I had a clear negative on Sunday morning so I'm not sure what to expect x

Can I just check, do OPK’s from CD7 (and DTD every other day if you can) and then DTD whilst the smiley face is on and then you can stop?? Really really want to get lucky this month (on CD3 now). Thanks

beccamums29 · 13/08/2019 19:23

@chaosonthehorizon I don't do OPKs but I use the Ovia app and it tells me my most fertile days and I just try to have more sex around those days x

OP posts:
Chaosonthehorizon · 13/08/2019 20:26

Ok thanks, does anyone know whether you can just stop after the fertile period or is it best just to keep going all month? We are meant to be apart from CD17-24 ish and now wondering whether to change plans.

beccamums29 · 13/08/2019 20:57

You can stop, the egg only survives a short time I believe but sperm can survive for up to 7 days so even if you have sex the last day of your fertile window there's still a chance x

OP posts:
Chaosonthehorizon · 13/08/2019 21:45

So I guess as long as you are sure you have had your fertile period, fingers crossed the clear blue things work! So wish it had happened last month when we were actually together all month, if we just missed the fertile window I will be so cross! But no way of knowing of course

beccamums29 · 14/08/2019 12:18

AF due today. No sign as yet but I'm crampy and nauseous. Trying not to get my Hope's up. How is everyone? X

OP posts:
beccamums29 · 14/08/2019 15:39

Cracked and did a test, negative. This is so frustrating. Although with my daughter I must have been about 5 weeks along before I got a positive test. X

OP posts:
beccamums29 · 15/08/2019 09:24

I'm officially a full day late. So impatient but I'm going to wait until after the weekend to test again (she says)..

OP posts:
beccamums29 · 17/08/2019 14:05

Hi all. Hope you're all well. I'm currently having what I think is a chemical pregnancy loss. Got 2 positives then started spotting and now I'm bleeding like a period with clots etc. Not good but I'm honestly trying to treat it like a late period and start again next month.

OP posts:
Chaosonthehorizon · 19/08/2019 10:30

Oh lovely I am so sorry. That is so mean as you held off testing until officially late. Big hugs.

Chaosonthehorizon · 19/08/2019 10:31

Am CD9 and got first high fertility on CB, bricking it as we DTd last night but can’t now until tmw night, also can only do once a day due to the other kids which I suspect some of you sympathise with! Am I going to miss the boat??

teachermam · 19/08/2019 20:50

I am but I'm 39
And so far not much luck
10 cycles in
Has chemical on 6th cycle

Was much easier under 35
